The cabinet is in really good shape, just needs a bit of Old
English scratch cover or something like that. :-D

Do you think painting my featherweight like this would ruin the value? My dh brought it home from the thrift store the other day. He paid $25 for it. I think he's a keeper. He even found my pfaff embroidery machine at a pawn shop a few years back...yep, he's a keeper!

We live on an island in the ocean, so the bottom edges have the paint "eaten" away and the flip tray is dulled out. It looks as if someone set a drink or spray can on it. It was a loved machine at one time because when I remove the pan cover, it is clean and there are hand cut felt on the spool post. I think it may be a child that left the machine in a garage or something. It sews beautifully. All of the original parts are in the top box of the carrying case, but the bottom of the case is moldy. She was built Sept. 1945

I think I would have it repainted if its that bad, you want the machine to be usable.

I wonder what Billy would charge? I'll have to sell lotsa fabric and books :0)

I think that pink FW is really pretty. I know the purists don't like the repainted ones, but if the original is in a poor condition, then why not?
