I think I am going to cry for the next 3 days myself.

trust me, if you could have seen all of those machines, and of course people only wanted to buy what they knew was selling on ebay...or was very ornate for shop decor....it made me physically ill for days....here I thought I had died and gone to heaven, only to have it yanked away from me....

I love to save old machines and old quilts! and I live in an area that lends itself to both easily!

Hi, Billy
I just bought a Franklin serial plate says 4x239 for $35. Has the original shuttle bobbin but is missing the power cord. I want to take it back to a treadle any way. It needs cleaned but the graphics are in good shape. Did I pay to much?

Had all the stitch wheel attachments and tools with it, too! (plus a couple vintage sewing tools that I will treasure forever).

It started stitching backward (the feeddogs are running backward we surmise) but the reverse mode is not engaged. Not sure what happened? 12-y.o. daughter and I cleaned the dustbunnies off it, and literally carried it a few blocks home... what a find for her to have a personal machine.

What on earth would make a machine start "running backward"? It's an Elgin Model #2468, and I'd so love to get it running for her, I don't trust her with my good Husq's.

Is there anyway to post a photo of the machine for us to look at. And you can not beat the price of the machine, free!!!

Congratulations!!

Billy

Not at all, anytime you can find a VS for that price and in good condition jump on it! Franklin's were very nice machines!!

Post a few photos for us to enjoy!!

It is a Japanese 15 and I have seen only a few with that type of stitch regulator knobs on them. It is a badged machine so it could have been made by numerous manufacturers over there but its nice to know someone else in that area! What part of Japan is he in?
