I agree with starting quilting first. Everything else takes place after the priorities. ;-)

Sheri, only a sewer/quilter would understand these priorities.
Leaha, thank you for the welcome. Very, very grateful for this board and all the members.

OK, I just received my order from sew_classic. I am going to start the rewiring process.
Please wish me luck. I want/need to get sewing so badly I am afraid I am going to mess something up.
Thank you all.

Just take it one step at a time and you'll do fine. The only time I mess things up is when I get excited or impatient and get ahead of myself.

Welcome from middle Tennesse here. Mine doesn't look nearly that good, but I use it ALL the time, so haven't even considered taking the time to re-do it (the cabinet, that is). My machine has the thread holder missing, but I just stuck a 10-penny (maybe) finishing nail in it, and it still hums for me when I am using it. I love those drawers, and I did figure out by myself one time how to take them out. The stuff in all the drawers and the stool even have that "old house musty" smell to it, but I guess I am so used to the smell that I don't notice it. We live in an old-timey farm house that has been remodeled and remodeled and remodeled, so I don't think it smells. Someone not used to the house might notice it, but I don't. The only time I might notice that smell is if I happen to open up a machine that I recently brought in and haven't cleaned up yet. Sometimes one of my kids will come in and say "you need to work on a machine, Mom--something stinks in here."

First time I have been on since my last post. I finally bought a laptop today. It has windows 8 and I am really struggling with it. I am very computer literate but this 8 really set me back a few notches. It is very unsettling.

JoAnn, my desk has/had a little musty smell also. I don't really smell it anymore. Not sure if I've just gotten used to it or not. I have not rewired it yet. I started to and need to get the right bit to take the motor off. Don't want to ruin anything in trying to rush. In the meantime I got my hands on a 99. I will post in a new thread about the 99.

I'm also not a fan of Windows 8. If you don't have to, don't bother with the 8.1. All it did for me was take away a tool bar I had some favorite sites marked on and never did give it back. GRRR.
I sure miss XP, sigh.

Windows 8 is so bad my company has decided to skip it in favor of using Windows 7 until Windows 9 comes out.

It took me all night to figure out it had 8.1 and not 8. I've had xp, vista and no windows but dos and never had the problems
I am having with 8.1. I shut it down and went on my tablet which I hate even more.
