Now what? I have cleaned the thing up and ready to put back together. Wher do I get the red felt that holds the oil? I didn't take it all out (old stuff). A lot is still there. Di I need to replace it?

The purpose of the felt is to hold and distribute oil to the bobbin area so if there is enough left you might be ok just as it is, just oil the felt. If there isn't much left you may need to replace it. As far as I know any wool felt should do. When I oil the felt in my machines the felt looks very dark, when the felt looks lighter I know it's time to oil it.

I never had to replace the felt but it is really easy to do. Just get the wool felt and put it in the spring and your good.
