I assume it's the same thing with Singer. All sewing machines are Singers.
Aspirin was Bayer's trade name. It became generic for acetylsalisic acid. Coke came close to becoming generic for cola. Coca-Cola fought it off. One of the last machines I purchased was described as "Singer Capri Aqua Blue Sewing Machine Brother Motor." I agree Singer, for some, has become generic for old sewing machine.

At least they showed the machine. A lot of folks only show the cabinet, as if that is the sewing machine.

He replied with his phone number. I'm not going to waste his time if nobody wants it though. If you do want his # let me know. I told him that I live in CA by my collector friend lives local to him, but that you re no longer interested because you found one for $15.

well shucks with the pic of the cabinet were better because this is the first I have seen of my cabinet and I wanted to know what kind of knobs were originally on the drawers.

Poor guy -- his price went from what, $500? to $200 to $50 and now he finds it's worth 15. What a buzz killer (for a smokin' guy).

Honestly, this ad is too funny; they are looking for people to sew these rubber pants. The first baggy plastic pant photo is particularly awful! How do I post the photos properly...?

I could send them a sewing machine to use to make rubber pants.

At first glance I thought those rubber pants were on toddlers, the patterns look like for kids. But then I realized...nope!

There are special needs kids and adults out there - not really creepy - just kind of sad.

Ironically the numbers don't match. It's a 66 but the manual is for a 15. Busted!

I caught a bit of one of those "Storage Wars" shows last night.
As they go through the crap in the locker they just bought they reel off "values".
That's where the real comedy is in those shows.
I was reminded of that when I saw this.

I know exactly which episode that is. It cracks me up every time.

I went out to pick up a 201 this morning. It was out of the table and not part of the listing. I asked the guy what happened to the table (I like stories) and he looked at me with the straightest of hard faces and said, "That's an antique! We're keeping it!"
Of course the machine is filthy and filled with dead spiders. But, you know, the table.

Maybe he has a use for the table.... There are always safety pins to hold his pants together... Well if he is from a town just south of Indianapolis it seems like it is fashionable for old men to wander around with big splits down the back of their pants or pockets ripping off - I can also guarantee they don't bother with boxers. Of course here in town they are no better they don't have belts so the pants go around the - never mind.........

Not Greenwood right? I lived there for a while. I don't remember pants problems, but it's been a minute.
