Vintage Sewing Machine Shop.....Come on in and sit a spell
As far as the generic or vintage foot. I know it's not a vintage foot since it looks just like the one for my modern Janome. It doesn't look anything like the penguin or any of the older attachments I've seen. I've quilted 3 others on the same system with no problems. I kept the box the foot came in. It doesn't say much. It's a plain white box that says Walking Foot in English, French and Spanish. Then there is a picture of it and it says "contents, 1 piece". Does this help?
OH....thread to my little runners.... http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...n-t164440.html

I'm thinking you may have a burr on the eye of your needle. Can you try a different needle? Either that or there is a problem with that spool of thread. If it still does it with the new needle then it is most likely the thread. Good luck!

My Singer 201K got "new" treadle irons today, she is very happy to have new "legs". I bought a better set of straight leg irons last month from a Craig's list seller. DH and I swapped them out this afternoon, the old set was the donor for a few missing parts. I'm amazed how smooth and quietly the new irons treadle. Sewing is so much easier. I'm making double Friendship stars with either a 3" friendship star or a 9 patch in the center square.

I'll switch out the needle tomorrow and see if that fixes it. Too late tonight to keep going. I know that I'll spend more time ripping out if I keep going tonight.

I had been working on the things for our Christmas bazaar booth, but things can change so fast. My mom went to the doctor on Tues. to have her under active thyroid checked, and try to find out what was causing weakness in her left hand. A ct scan to check for a small stroke revealed a brain tumor, that had potentially spread from lung cancer. Also in most major organs. Starting radiation today, to hopefully control the growth and pressure on her brain. If that is successful, then possibly chemo for the rest. Too widespread for surgery. We are somewhat overwhelmed but our new family motto is "make every day count" so yall keep us in your thoughts please.
Ok. I can try it without the foot, I have some spare fabric I can play with.

The term generic is used to state it will work on most (modern) machines, doesn't mean all.
I had a generic foot that I used on a Janome TB30 that I had problems with. I then purchased the correct walking foot for that machine and problem was gone.
Sew Classic sells a walking foot for vintage Singers, just make sure it is the correct one for your Singer 66.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. My mom will get to go home tomorrow, and next week we will get a game plan together.
