Nancy, here's a link to the table. http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...umber-314.html As you can see it's for a long bed 301. Since you have a short bed I'd recommend you keep you eye out for the table I have. It would suit you better as it fits both short bed 301'a and 401's/501's......and I know you own both! http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...0-500-301.html
I wish I knew whether this is the 301 table or the 221 table? It looks like the 221. I'd sure buy it if it were the 301 table - I already have the 221 table!

This is from yesterday's ISMACS digest. The pdf is interesting, no pictures but some good machine information. This was posted by David from Kent, England.
I was doing a search for a Singer 96KSV7 and stumbled across the following
catalogue, section 1 of which is sewing machines, and not just those in
the West Dunbartonshire collection:
http://www.stickssn.org/site/media/E...ster%20Catalog
ue%20for%20Scotland.pdf
If anyone has any views on how complete this is, for example, I'd be
interested.
I have already noticed in the 'maker not recorded' a 31-2 and 31k15 -
probably Singer. The K31-4 is probably the Singer 31K4 which John
Langdon(?) has photographed. This was used for decorative stitching on the
end of corset bones, the needle stopping at the end of each stitch so the
fabric could be moved by hand. House built the mechanism for this into the
treadle base, but I am not sure about Singer's: I'd love to crank her over
and see.

I (we) want a bigger (much) house with a full length or width screened off porch so I can sit outside and cogitate on the world or sew or drink iced tea or rock in the rocking chair I don't own.
Nancy's comments about treadling out doors in the storage shed sounds peaceful and relaxing.

I am not an outdoor person but DH built my sewing room across a driveway he uses to drive into the woods. I love going over there and sew to my hearts content. I don't even turn on a radio just the hum of the treadle or an elec. machine. In the winter I fire up the wood stove and usually by afternoon I have to open a window. DH joins me every once in a while and we have lunch I'v cooked on the stove. Then he is gone again. I come back to the house around 4 and tell him "I'm home". It's been so nice. I have several machines to choose from FW's, 301"s, Davis VF, 319,Franklin treadle and my 66 treadle.
I too have my HC for that same reason. Plus, I want to sit out in backyard on nice days piecing away while watching my dog chase the "killer" squirrels that try to enter the yard.

Nancy,
Original 221 tables all have a rounded black skirt around the edge.
The 301/401 tables have a tan skirt that slopes. Easy to spot the differences
once you know them. The long bed table's cut out is a rectangle and the short has a bump-out on the right.

Candace, Sharon, and Cathy thank you for answering my question. I have the 221 table, but it is put up so I couldn't compare the two. I do have the short bed 301, and a 401a, and 503a, so it would be nice to get a table that would work with all of them!
Monica, I just figured the Tempe was short for Temperance Creek, which is not far from me! But, after seeing your e-mail I looked up the area code too - that is Arizona!
