Anastasia,

I do hope these are not your creations. If they are I apologize for my comments.

But those things, they are JUNK. And should have been sent to the dump. This person is a nut cast and just wasting their talents.
I wouldn't have that "re-purposed junk" in my house let alone pay her fantasy prices. Gads!!!!!!!!!!

That is my opinion.

Well as the Steve H post says, "Not My Cup of Tea" ;^) and I have seen repurposed objects as art that I did like. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I kind of like the “Wagon Treadle”. I saved copies of the photos and might make one out of my old Texas Ranger wagon out in the back yard that has the front axle ripped out of it. Only, I think I might turn the wagon right side up to hold more.

I really don’t have a problem with people repurposing old sewing machine items. I have a treadle garden myself. Vegetable plants in tubs elevated up onto old “barn-fresh” treadle stands that have broken cast iron but can still hold weight. I have a White Martha Washington coffee table too. It has a functional White Embossed Model 31 Rotary in it.

Over the years, I have collected photos off of the internet of “other” things made out of sewing machine items. So far, I have 582 photos, some of which are multiples of the same item, but many are a single photo of an individual thing. Currently, I have photos of 5 jigsaws, 1 table saw, 1 lathe, 1 grinder, 6 lamps, 3 liquor cabinets, 1 beer cooler, 1 whiskey still, 1 BBQ cooker, 117 tables, 12 coffee tables, 33 tractors, 10 sinks/basins, 5 saddle racks, and several miscellaneous benches, mailboxes, vanities, trunks, hutches, planters, bird houses/cages, desks, bookends, and other “art”.....

I can’t show you the photos of most of them because I don’t have the copyright on them.

ETA: I forgot to mention the treadle slot machine....

My 'stuff' is already shabby, I don't need to go buy more

I see less problem with those who repurpose items than I do with the Saviors Of All Machines
who stuff them somewhere in the machine crypt with the 25 or 50 or 100 others to continue rusting their lives away.

Oh-oh....guilty again. I have around 350 as-is and parts machines stored away...

Hey CD, Not to get too far off topic but are those just plastic tubs that you have the plants occupying in your garden? Did you drill weepy holes in the bottoms of them and do they grow nice vegetables and such? I am sure you have to feed and water them. I need to think about my garden in my new-to-me house and I don't have a tiller.

I got those 20-gal tubs from a friend who raised cattle with her husband (they had to sell the cattle 2 years ago because of the draught) and they had obtained mineral nutrients of some sort in them. I drilled four 1/2” holes around the lower part of the sides, about an inch above the bottom. They drain any excess water.

I fill the tubs about half-full with loose tree leaves and then put the dirt in. That seems to allow the holes to remain open and work. The leaves pack down and begin deteriorating, but tend to allow the water to wick through and out. I haven’t had any holes plug up with dirt. Some plants grow a mat of roots in that bottom inch to suck up the excess water. We dump the tubs out each Spring and re-do the dirt to liven it up again. They have raised us excellent gardens for the past few years, even with the draught.
