QuiltE...sweet snowman. Such a merry greeting.
QNS...with just the two of us, there was no decorating either. Still cookies and candy from my DD's visit. I'll celebrate when they're gone. I'm just not used to that much sweet stuff.
Honchey...check your list twice or you just might have to go shopping! How long will you be away from home?
Jan...how nice you got your new chair. I think mine is loosing some of it's holding power too and drifts down before I realize it. We didn't get the snow that was predicted. It's still snowing but the radar shows that it's almost past us. The way people were driving this morning, I think we got some freezing rain overnight so the roads in town are slick. I'm not planning to go anywhere for a couple of days. I'm working on my PC quilt too. I have two rows quilted and 7 more to go. I'm hoping to get this quilt done yet this year.
I have the BB's on my design wall and I still like them. A little more finishing and I'll get them in the mail.

Phewwww, I'm glad the storm in your area was lighter than expected...I have family in Chicago & Ohio...I hope it's not bad there either.... Jan, I love my chair...it doesn't have any arms and the seat is slightly tilted down in the front so that your legs don't go to sleep after sitting for awhile...Ggal, I hope to be away for 6 -8 weeks if all goes well....Everytime we plan a lengthy stay some sort of a family calamity occurs and we have to come home to sort it out...things are quiet now so Bob & I hope our stay will be as expected.....I always make the rounds to the LQS...I have to have my fix you know...I'm smarter now and only pick up 1/4 or 1/2 yards instead of the 3 yd pieces I used to get...how are you putting your quilt together Ggal? are you doing it like Jan?
Jan...Do you think it's possible to do a QAYG set on point... can the side triangles be added ? I'm asking because you' ve done QAYG before..I've never done it... would like to try the technique....how do you add borders??? I'm confusing myself with all these thoughts...I'll have to do some research on it...
I have cut out my patterns for my BBblocks...now to figure out the fabric choices...
I'm bringing my Sapphire & fabric mover..will play a little bit with freemotion...I've never used the fabric move except for demos while working...just jiggles all over the place...my curves and circles look like boxes and zig zags...I need alot of practice...
Jeanie, I'm bringing all my fabric for Easy Street...I have all of step 1 & 2 done..part of 3 & 4. none of 5 and will probably just download all the others that will be posted...I don't want to stress my self out...I can't imagine myself keeping up with everything on my plate...I need to get the BBblocks done first.....I will play a little in between them tho It's starting to sleet/snow here...I'm glad I don't have to go out... Have a good one everybody...don't forget to check in once in awhile.

Honchey...I'm using the method I learned on QB under the challenge section, and orphan blocks is in the heading of the thread. JennyK started it and if you click on her blog, all of the directions are there without reading through all of the comments. Yes, you can do QAYG on point. The one problem I had adding borders is that I get ruffles but I haven't quite figured out how to accommodate how much the quilting shrinks the border. As a whole, I really like the looks of the finished quilt. I've posted a couple there.

carrie...I was just thinking about the 6600...Did you know that the 7700 is now priced at about 2K and has a 11 inch harp? I don't know what your budget is but these will now be sold on line and you might be able to find a better deal than the 2K. If you know a good Janome dealer you might be able to get a machine that has been traded in on an upgrade but well taken care of and in good condition.

We did not get any snow or ice, but I was in Kirksville this morning and they got a lot of snow and ice...one street I pulled out on was very icy...then the quilt shop was closed!!

Chickens were out of feed, so that meant a quick trip to town; 82 miles around trip. Stopped at Queen City for the Straw bales and most of the feed, and they wanted eggs, so I brought the loaded pickup home and picked up the car and 14 dozen eggs for them...and continued on to Kirksville for the grit and oyster shell and 18% pellet layer feed; stopped at Hy-Vee food store to replace my flour and a few staples....last flour I opened for Christmas pies had weevils in it...and I picked up fresh to replace that,...only to find weevils again. Sigh!! So before New Year comes in I will try again in my hometown that is a forty mile round trip.

Dh does not know how he missed the mark and thinks of himself as innocent always....but I will make up for it in the next FART trip, I promise!! I was embarrassed one Christmas when the kids ask where my present was...so I made it a routine to include myself in the Christmas shopping and mark it from him to me and that took care of that...I was just hoping this year he would remember..
