DD, you ever heard of a guy named Murphy? Need I say more??

I went to the GP yesterday after a rough night with lots of pain. Urinary tract infection and I have to go to hospital tomorrow for more tests. I'm on antibiotics now, starting tonight. Didn't do anything yesterday and today except watching movies and taking painkillers I've had it before but not this way!

Honchey ... glad you are making it for YOU! The baby yarn will make it so nice and snuggly. Definitely a good sit down project for you, to be kind to your body. I'm *giggling* at you not knowing who your October MB partner is! Maybe we should have had you send one of us the list, for times like this. Glad that you are letting that chair do your walking for you ... and save your leg/knee/hip as much as you can. Don't get any speeding tickets!! Good for you for keeping QOTS in the loop and yes, I hope they will drop by and say hello to the group. I haven't been following the Spike threads ... figured til I am ready to get back in the sewing groove, I would let them go, and then catch up then. Took my Spike Topper to the local Fair last night for its first showing!

Ladies ... and yes, Honchey's Ditty Bag is exceptional and could be used in so many more ways than for our notions! Christmas gifts, anyone?

JanRN ... we'll just call this your FART Retirement! I'm sure it's the right one for you ... keeps you involved in a career that you have loved, with enough separation from it to do so many other things that you want to do away from it! Quilt on!!!!!! ........ and when is the next FART?

Crocheting ... I used to do a lot of TV crocheting too!!!! Before I was married, I made a tablecloth for my dining room table ... yes itty bitty crochet cotton. I must have been idiotic!!! There was spells of knitting, petit point and needlepoint. Haven't done any for years! Though don't you do your binding with the TV? and GFGs? and ? Heck, I sew at the machine while allegedly watching TV ... though more of the time it's a matter of "noise" and I catch the odd glimpse as I work along. GFGs have become my in between if I do not have other quilty hand sewing to do, and am wanting to sit in a comfy chair and not at my machine

OKSGlad ... Thankfully your DDIL/DS have you to SOS when need be! Poor little one ... no doubt she'll get lots of pampering and TLC to help her thru it all. Are the Grands back to school?

CarrieM ... On the upside thankfully your PT is not trying to continue endlessly and referring you on for further diagnosis. Here's to a quick MRI appt.

Anael ... and now, another one for the sick bay! Take care!

Me? ... minimal ouch in comparison to the rest ... last night I rammed a sliver up under my finger nail. I'm sure nothing is in there, but no surprise it is awfully sore today!

JanRN ... good thing you into your FART Retirement ... you've got full time work here as our Resident Nurse!!!!!!!!!!

Goodness gracious I'm not sure about this bunch! FYI I am keeping Ilean at bay. Must do my morning exercises or I can feel her knocking at the door! Yes thank goodness for JanRN and she's only going to work one day a week. But don't let that be an invitation to have more problems ladies. We must get on the road to recovery!

Take care Anael and rest. And yes slivers are minor to what some of the others are experiencing; but very annoying and doesn't it just make you utter a naughty word when you hit it on something QE?

Avery will find out more this afternoon--hopefully just 3 weeks in the cast. Worried about whether she damaged her growth plate or not. Let's hope not. Not sure how long she will be out of preschool. Kids started on 22nd of August. Of course got hot hot after they started. Last night a cold front came in (with no rain which we now need) and what a treat to sleep with the cool air coming in the open windows--could be in the mid 40's tonight (4-7C).

dublb--sounds like your retreat was successful! Quilt guild restarts this month so looking forward to getting together with the group!

GGal--yes I understand the "don't want to look at instructions" and precisely why I left cross stitching. Heck I can sit and sew and hardly ever look at the pattern.

I've must get these 2 Christmas items done before we leave on Saturday and now have a funeral dinner to work at tomorrow--maybe a little late night oil tonight.

Oh my goodness that pie should be renamed "Heart Attack on a Plate"--precisely mirabelle!

I meant to go to the SFarm and take pictures of the sorghum before it was chopped; but didn't. Was called to barn duty yesterday AM as chopper (a non directional head so it doesn't need to follow the rows) was here during milking. Missed doing the morning exercises which is why I know I need to keep doing them.

Better get sewing--Later

QuiltE, run a cup two thirds full of as hot water as you can stand, add arm and hammer baking soda and vinegar to the water and soak your finger in it and it will ease the pain. An old folk remedy we learned in the Ozarks that works.

Anael, pay attention the medics; that is serious and very painful thing to have. Young women do get it from time to time...its Murphy's Law.

OksewGlad, so sorry about DGD's accident; maybe a nurse could put a 'cast' on her favorite doll's leg as well so they could 'talk' to one another about it and heal together. Surprised that broke, since she lives on a dairy farm and drinks lots of milk, it must have hit a certain way...good that Grandmother lived close to give a hand helping with the others and maybe the four year old for a while. Lots of TLC there to give.

Well, the doctor's office called me. The lung is doing fine. The knee has arthritis; I did not need to have Arthur hanging around. Might have to get a second opinion on that. Meanwhile I will take over the counter pain pills that they recommend. Aleve. And hobble around the house, doing what I can.

QNS--see we posted close together. Maybe they can offer exercises for you to do with your knee. Start slow--I know it has helped my back. FYI I was taking 2 Aleve 2x a day and didn't help the pain. That is Rx strength Naproxen. I bought the generic brand--lots cheaper. Take care of yourself now.

OKSGlad ... yes minor, but my goodness it affects sewing! As it throbbed away last night, all I could think of was "butttttttt this is my needle pulling thread finger!". While I have not been machine sewing, I have been doing some of my GFGs, so now, that will not be happening for awhile. Good thing, as now I need to panic sew and get my MB done ... as well as a Challenge Block for the Fair next weekend. Just drew up what I want to do ... and am going to use my MB as the prototype. (I think!!) Here's hoping not long lasting effects for DGD#3. While I had not thought of a cast for her doll, I did have visions of you doing a decoupage quilt all over the cast!

QNSue ... new one to me! My old fall back is epsoms salts! YOu dind't mention it, but I am sure the Dr. also wants you to slow down a tad or six, to let that knee get better. While you may get comfort from Aleve, .... it does not fix things.

OK Ladies ....... are we going to have to gang up on QNSue and rope and tie her?

QNS, thanks for the 'young women'

OK, I'm sorry your DGD broke her ankle. You could draw applique blocks with funny animals on her cast

QuiltE, I guess you do have a lot of machine sewing also. Is anyone of us without physical problems? She could fly around the world as our nurse and pamper all of us including OK's DGD!
