You're right !!! I just looked...Hmmm If we're starting on August 4th, how soon should I post the thread???

I don't want anyone to lose interest or pester to start sooner.

Apparently the publisher shipped early....

Hi! I got my book today too. I took it to look through while the kids were at archery practice tonight. I didn't make the original FW quilt so am looking forward to the 6" block size. With good planning I *should* be able to do 2 blocks a week...in the next couple weeks I'll work on getting patterns printed and start measuring for paper piecing. If we have a mid-July/early August start date that would be great. I haven't decided yet if I will use 30s fabrics for sure or not. I know the quilt will end up on the bed in my craft room so I will just need a twin sized quilt.

I like the name for the threads Anne....should be easy to keep track of. As far as when to announce, I am not sure...maybe the middle of June? That gives people 4-6 weeks to get their books and fabrics together. Is that too long if they are just using scraps??? I am not sure.

I have thought about fabric over night, and I think I will do the more modern version although I love the fabric that Laurie used...lots of scraps in blues, purples and etc., colors of a rainbow. I wlll try her suggested patterns, some I will skip after trying.

Sounds like everyone is getting on board, and that you have the timeline onward going, Anne. Glad to hear from GrannyQ, JeanieG, JanRN, Carrie and Honchey leading us again on the trail. I will take my book on the first of June and get the spine bound...as I have with the other two Laurie Aaron Hird books.

Everyone have a great day.

There are 99 Blocks to this quilt. I guess because there are 99 counties in Iowa? Or the old song, "99 bottles of beer on the wall?" Just finished printing out all the paper piecing patterns.

QNS--You are ahead of me. I did get them installed on my computer this morning though and started to decide which I won't be making since I don't need all 99. Still need to weed out about 5 more (just so you know Jan, I'm not doing many, if any, with y-seams either...like you I *can* do, but choose not to if I don't have to!)...Time to get lunch and then go to work so that will have to wait until tonight or tomorrow though.

Hope everyone has a great day! It is beautiful here!!

I'm wanting to use a w/w background with very tiny dots..I don't want it to interfere with the blocks.. I've printed out the first 4 block patterns..
