Default Purging purging purging!

I know a lot of you love having tons of fabric in your stash. I am not in that category....i have spent the last day or so purging fabric, fabric scraps, UFOs that will never get completed. Donating 2 trash bags of the the aforementioned items to a local senior citizen group who make charity quilts. Donating misc "yardage" to our churches' international outreach program for third world sewing projects. my sewing room is starting to feel more manageable with less......getting rid of totes and those plastic drawer things. They end up storing fabric that will never get used. They take up too much room. 4/GONE!

Today my home office is the target. Good grief! The empty binders, the sheet protectors, the empty hanging file folders, etc. Going to Goodwill! Unfiled documents!! I hate filing but must do so on some of them. Pitching...recycling paper. My goal is to eliminate this area that is for the most part.....unused. The desk is a monster! I am a piler....no horizontal surface is safe!! Feel overwhelmed but productive!

Anyone else go thru this??

The school will take all of the supplies...I donate to them all the time....They love the binders and file folders and anything else they can use.

Whew, been there and done that. I do it now everytime I feel creativity slipping. I seem to have to have space to create.

I don't have a huge stash so no need to purge. Do I have other household stuff that I need to purge? You betcha but no ambition.

I went through that a few years ago. It's a great feeling to reduce what just takes up space. I know I must have recycled about 200 pounds of paper (shredded half of it first).

The urge to purge hits me at least once a year. I will spend days just hitting one room at a time , going through everything. I ask myself 2 questions, have I used it or needed it in the last year, and would I be willing to haul it across country, If the answer to either of these questions is no than out it goes. Just did this to 2 bathrooms, the office, and 2 bedrooms. It is amazing what you will find that you either lost track of or put someplace safe than forgot where that safe place was. LOL I usually find lots of duplicates, After this last go around I don't think I will be buying any tooth paste, shampoo, conditioner, or body wash during 2014 LOL

I am guilty too...life was so much easier when the Navy required us to move every 3-4 years; yes, I thought it was hard...but....I've been in one place for 18 years and it's getting ridiculous! Guess I'll be where you're at...soon....that is, if I want to continue to work! LOL

Please send that energy my way! I really need to set some cleaning/reorganizing goals and stick to them.

I started to go through pictures this summer and got overwhelmed. Mostly with how I wanted to organize them.

Last night, I went with a friend to a blanket tying party and took 3 totes of fleece blankets that I made over the summer. The group For the Love of Peyton gets together once a year and ties blankets. I am not sure how many were fringed and tied in the four hours for charity. Unfortunately, the lead organizer had my name on 2 bags of leftover fleece to bring home and use for a project. So I will probably be making a few more blankets out of that fleece by sewing the pieces together.
