Who is the manufacturer????? don't think I would want to ever buy one of those. I have never heard of that happening. heard of dryers starting on fire but now an exploding washing machine! Glad no one was hurt and that it didn't damage your car.

Yikes! Glad no one was hurt! I think I'd be getting a different brand of washer~~
Do you ever wash your dryer lint trap thing? Need to wash it in dish soap to get rid of the film on it. Do it every few months. Will keep your dryer from burning up!

You are right about this, I know of this very kind of thing
happening when you wash rags thats had gas and oil on them, they will cause a explosion I know for a fact for this happened to my Mother while she had a load of my dads shop rags in the washer, it is the only thing I have ever seen that does that, but it sure is dangerous.

Yikes. I think I have the very same washer and dryer judging from the pictures. Just got mine about 2 months ago and really love them. Mine are Whirlpool Cabrio.

I've never seen anything like this before. I would be very concerned...I know the electrics are usually housed in the top panel, which seems to be the bit that flew off. I would maybe get the power point tested, just in case. If it were me, I'd be wanting some answers from the manufacturer and probably would not buy the same brand to replace it. If a child had been nearby, it could have easily had a serious/fatal result.

Let us know what they come up with....could save some dramas for others.
