[QUOTE=dseale40;5967184]Yes, it is telling me I cannot use this hoop. The design is reading 8.60 x 4.63. The hoop
The actual size of your hoop is 10.25x 6.25, but that hoop is for 5x7 designs. Use the extra large hoop you got, it measures larger than the 10.25x6.25. Don't have that size, but my 5x7 measures about 6x10.

You can get a free program..and you reallySHOULD have one on your computer for when you see designs that are not in your .pes format--so you can change format & use them in your machine. Three free programs that come to mind immediately are
<cite style="FONT-STYLE: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto">www.compusewwithjan.com/.../freeconvertprograms</cite>
<cite style="FONT-STYLE: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto"></cite>

<cite style="FONT-STYLE: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto">.http://wilcomembroiderydesigns.blogs...-software.html wilcom</cite>
<cite style="FONT-STYLE: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto"></cite> And you can do a few other things than just reformat such as size, thread color, etc.

I have a Baby Lock Ellure Plus and have been wondering how I can use the embroidery feature to quilt motifs. Has anyone done this? I am trying to determine if I can put quilt in loop or if I need to use some kind of foundation. I look forward to hearing about anyone's experience.
If you are asking about placing a nearly finished quilt in the hoop to do the quilting, that I have not tried but have read that you might hoop a water soluble stabilizer and lay the quilt on top rather than hooping.
If you want to try applique in the hoop, I would highly recommend Molly Mine designs. She does some really cute stuff and every design I have used from her has been perfect!

Source for label tape?
I have been working on making labels for a friend who makes hats. So far, I have been using grosgrain ribbon which is working well. However, I recently read that the best type of ribbon to use is a woven label tape. The weave is different that that of grosgrain or satin ribbon and the threads will incorporate into the weave while they won't on grosgrain or satin.
Does anyone know where I can find woven ribbon? I've been searching the internet and no luck!
TIA for any information.
Jane

Sorry I can't help you with labels as I have never made them.
I will keep my eyes opens in case I find any information for you.
Now to get the thread moved back up to the FRONT page and
off page 6.

Label tape?
I finally found what I was looking for and love the way it sews out. Basic twill tape. The cotton type is a bit difficult to find although it was at JoAnn's on a roll. Limited in widths. Wright makes a twill tape, again difficult to find various widths and it is prepackaged. It is a polyester twill, much lighter in weight than the cotton and isn't bad on the stitchout. I do like it better than grosgrain.
It's kind of fun to play with the different types and see what a difference it makes in the finished product.
I've been using paper backed tear away sticky stabilizer. I just read somewhere that it may also work to hoop a piece of clear vinyl and cut a window, then add the sticky stabilizer. Guess that's my next experiment!
