I would like to see more charity quilts made. We have stashes and plenty of scraps. Lets use up some of those scraps we all have. There are so many organizations that can use quilts.

OK I so do not to read through these responses. As if I need another thing I want to do and add to my list. LOL I really like to make an owl quilt and owl pillow but I think owls are on the way out too.

Used most of two jellyrolls on the new years day mystery quilt but that was 'santuary' need to find a kids fabric one or a vegetable one or primary and secondry colors solids one ..... or i could use all the leftover pieces of binding that i have in a big pickle jar....iron them out....join them......thinking.......
This thread is messing with my resolution to finish UFO's and WIP and OIAB (objects in art bins) |
Recently I found an online store that just sells jelly rolls. I'm like you in two respects... a jelly roll quilt in my future (I can't remember the name of it -- the pattern is buried in my studio someplace -- it's the kinda diagonal stripes one) & this board is messing with my resolution (the one about getting some stuff done -- the one about "no fabric buying until I use some of mine up" is LONG broken... LOL).

I needed a break from quilting and decided to use my left-over sheeting to make rag rugs.
I wound up going to the Thrift store and bought 5 flat sheets (including 2 King and 1 Queen size) and have been having a great time cutting up sheets. No,I don't tear them because of the fuzz that goes up my nose. But i have had a grand time stitching the l-o-n-g strips together and rolling into balls. Making rag rugs were the thing to do in years gone by.....a way to us up old clothing and worn sheets. Getting back to basics is what I call it. Waste not - want not. So the box is about empty and i have some new rugs. June in Cincinnati |

Is the Lil' Twister tool the one you use with charms? I want to get a Twister but I'm not sure which one to get. Suggestions?

Can't think of anything right now. Locally the jeans quilts seem to be making a comeback though. The ones where you cut squares of jeans, squares of backing and square of thin cotton batting, layer and sew a 1"seam to the outside and clip the seams.

Mug Rugs rock! :-)

Look up Missouri Star Quilt Company and see You Tube for directions. Only takes 3/4 yd of main fabric, 9 inches of part of trim and 2-3 inches (I like 3) for narrow trim. Fast and easy.
