I started sorting material and cutting apart to sort and went through a big box stash to get rest of animal panels. It is mess in sewing room but what goes back in box is a sort sorted and ready in bags to put back. I have not bought material this year except for some sheets. Need for borders around the animal panels.
I got sick early May and on in to June.

I have to say that I am proud of us in this group. We are doing so much better than last year. We are shopping our stash and limiting purchases to reasonable excursions off the wagon. Good going, ladies! WOWSER, 45 yards of stash - that must have made a dent.

Usually 15 yards in a bolt...at $10 a yard that's $450...money not spent and fabric used for its purpose...making quilts.

I just placed an order with CT. Needed some specific thread. Last year I would have added on a few extras to bring it up to $50 for free shipping. I stopped at the 3 spools of thread, and shipping was only $3.50. I've also decided against going to the AQS show in Grand Rapids. I really do like looking at the quilts, but I also succumb to a small spending spree.

I'm glad you all mention what triggers a spending spree. Now I know to leave the credit cards at home when I go to the sewing expo in October. Thanks all for sharing your experience as well as your support.

Been doing really pretty well. I have been avoiding the stores except when I need something to finish what I am working on. And have only slipped a little and picked up a few remnants that are solids which is something I really lack in my stash.

Sounds like your doing good to me.
I have a question. Is accepting a friends relatives scraps within the realm of "ok" for the Moratorium. I just got a trash bag of fabric. I haven't even gone through it to see if it is cotton or not.

You didn't seek it out. You didn't spend money. So I'd say you are in the clear. Plus you can always pass them on if they don't fit.
