AngelAnn, if it's THE PERFECT piece to finish a project then it really is OK. How can you pass up "THE PERFECT PIECE"? Right?

And the price, that is what helped do it thankfully. Now back on the wagon, and continue on this journey. Will have to post when I get it done.

Angel Anne- I'd say that wasn't a fall, since you bought the fabric specifically to finish a project...

Thanks Rob. I guess it really was okay. I didn't go looking for that piece, but it just jumped out at me how perfect it was when I saw it. Definitely making a dent in the stash too, so all is good.

AnngelAnne, I wish you lived closer, too! They are about 36" square. I cut 4.5" strip sets for the blocks. Of course, there was WOF left over on the flannel backing, so eventually I'll cut strips and make a patchwork from the leftovers.

Okay, great, thanks for the info on this. Seems simple enough to do up, will have to look into this further.

Well, I think I deserve a pat on the back--I went to the Mid Atlantic Quilt Fest yesterday and didn't buy any fabric, even though I had decided to let myself off the wagon in order to replenish my lights-- why do they always seem to get gone faster than anything else????? But, I didn't see any light valued fabrics that I liked, and the prices were about the same as what I'd pay at my LQS (which wasn't there for some reason). So I Did Not Buy any fabrics--At A Quilt Show!!!!

Of course I did buy $80 worth of thread at the Superior threads booth--those 100 wt silk threads were so luscious, and then they had some Glitter (which I've been wanting to try) and a nice variegated metallic, and thread cards too!-- Good thing we don't have a thread moratorium

Good for you, Rob. I just mentioned to my DH how well we all have been doing this year. He asked me if I wanted to stop at the LQS on our way to get groceries. I told him NO emphatically. He laughed and told me he was testing me. (HA! LQS is closed on Sundays - it was EASY to say NO.) lol

I know that I may be in trouble early May when I go to the retreat. It is on the second floor of a quilt shop. But it is close to my birthday, so I might combine the birthday and travel exclusion in one sitting.

Retreats are special, birthdays are special. We as quilters are special. Quilt shops that offer rooms for retreats are wonderful indeed. I say its a perfect setting to get some special fabric!! I think I would. I'm just sayin.
