Grand Illusion - Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt 2014
#1364
Yay, finished just in time for tomorrow morning. I'm not bragging though, LOL, since I'm only doing the 1/4 size. I wonder why the colors look so untrue. Is it our monitors, our cameras? The greens are true, as is the aqua, but the reds/pinks are terrible. They look so orange in these pictures, but are really pink. And my yellow is not really that bright.

Pink is the hardest color to photograph true, for some reason. In my experience, warm pink almost always looks red or orange rather than pink when photographed. I don't know why this is. Is this a nighttime photo? I've noticed those tend to look yellower than daytime photos.

I think I understand my yellow problem better now. I didn't find the yellow obnoxious until I'd brought in some much lighter blues, thereby upsetting the prescribed value relationships. I've taken those out, now all of my blues are reading blue, and I'm not finding the yellow to be a problem (still loving that tan, though).

Well I'm glad today's clue is easy, but for the life of me, I just can't figure out how this is all going to come together. It doesn't seem like we've used much green (purple for me) yet, does it? Does anyone see a pattern emerging yet?

Whitepine I just love your white fabric and how nicely it contrasts. Joe'smom your blocks are looking beautiful too!
Clue 5 is going to be so easy to do and should get them done this weekend. The excitement is building stronger and stronger!
