The plug-in for the cord is where it differs from the Singer 15 it is a copy of... The plug has three slots, rather than round holes (not unlike our electrical outlets, but three) and the connection is on the top of the motor, on the back of the machine, rather than on the right side like a Singer. quote]
I just happen to have one of those cords. They are pretty common to the older Kenmores. I'll have to look and see if I have a bobbin case, may have used them all.

I received a very nice response from them in regard to the Pfaff 230 spool pin. They are restoring theirs, so also looking for another spool pin. I asked them about their no shipping policy, so we'll see.

What does it usually mean when an electric machine starts running the moment you plug it in? I've seen a few of those lately. What's the fix for that? Total re-wiring?

I have a question about cleaning my featherweight. I have been reading all the posts for a couple weeks and have read Billys tute on cleaning VSM. My machine is in good condition and I don't know if I want to take it completely apart to clean. I just want to remove the old grease and oil and put new grease and oil in it. Can I use a toothbrush and Kerosene to clean it without taking it apart? If I have to take it apart, how does the machine bed come apart from the base? If I take the motor and handwheel off will it then come off the base? Kinda nervous about taking it apart. Loved your tutorial, Billy, but just a little confused since it wasn't a featherweight, I'm not very mechanical but would like to give it a try. Thanks-

Billy worked on a Brothers 1961 for me and when I got it back and pugged it in, mine did the same. I found out that I had the plug reversed between the electric and the foot pedal. Try reversing the plugs.
