I too started to grey at 27 and hit the bottle. I had to stop last year (because of a way to short hair cut incident) and was feeling raggedy about it. Then my son said he was "proud of me for going natural" and that it was really pretty. I have not colored it since. My babyfaced DH with no grey at all say he agrees with my son.
Can a girl really get that lucky? :-) glad I did.

But I think women with grey in their hair are really sexy!

I say if you like or don't like me for my hair ( gray all over at 43) then you have your priorities wrong. Men usually have such double standards - they want you not to have gray but they can ( makes them look distinguished) So, thanks for being a "real man" .

i'm 50 and going quite grey, when I was little I bravely told my mum she wasn't to go blue or pink, so now wouldn't dye my own hair, besides i would rather spend my money on fabric, wouldn't you?

I have never tried to color my hair. I have always been happy with the deep chestnut that God gave me. Now I am enjoying my increasing silver.

I started to go grey in my teens...I had very long (to the backs of my knees) dark brown/black hair and started colouring it at 17...over the years it gradually got a little shorter then at 30 I had a major life change, stopped colouring and cropped it short. My husband cuts my hair with clippers and I take care of the fringe...I have a kind of pixie cut, which seems to work and the colour is salt-pepper with a broad streak of white (would be very Lilly Munster if it were long again!). I find not colouring, not going to hairdressers and not even owning a comb very liberating.

I have had many people ask me where I get my hair done and what colour I use...so I'm guessing it looks ok.

This has been a fun thread and to all those who posted photos and descriptions....quilters are an attractive bunch aren't they!

I got tired of the time it took to color & having green or red tints to my hair so I quit.

Are you old enough to remember the movie called "The Boy With the Green Hair"? Seems like he wanted to color his hair and in those days hair color was not what it is today, and his home-do turned his hair green, Needless to say, he was in a tither and avoiding all his friends, and he couldn't get it out. It was a chemical reaction; and a pretty funny movie.

I am lucky I guess from what I am reading. I will be turning 50 this year and bearly have any gray at all (thanks dad) and no one can believe that I going to be 50. I have had to pull out the ID a couple of time to prove it. My brother and sister are both full gray.
