What about a darker green for a thin inner border? Like the color of the darker green in the stripe of the green fabric. Then a wide outer border of one of the blues? They also have a teal-ish color in the same print as the orange. There is also a grey/black swirl that looks like the red fabric in the quilt. Maybe one of those for a thin inner border?
    *SIGH* So many choices!

That's what I do also. I would use A if not using a thin border first. I think B blends in too much. But that's just me. The quilt is great. I am sure he'll love it!

I would use a 1-1/2" border of the red fabric and then your choice B. That would keep the blocks of the same B fabric from blending into the border as shown in your second picture. Whatever you do, it's a darling quilt. Love your pattern and colors.

I like the dark blue for the border since it's for a boy.

I like either of your choices. The only thing I might do is add a narrow (1" to 1 1/2") strip before the outside border. Maybe a bright red, green or yellow, or if you have it a strip with all the colors and run them horizontal rather than vertical.

    HI THERE,

AS I look at each of the choices, I see that the Blue with the stars , brings out the tiny stars in the other fabrics.

I agree that an inner border would give great defination to the fabric patterns on either side of it . That way each gets the respect due to each of their indivualities.
