Nancy; I now have 2 Necchis. Love them both. Great working machines and a very reasonable price. Test drive before you buy, if you do, and also bring along some SM oil because they drink lots if they're dry. I gave away a BU Nova to an Army buddy of mine and he absolutely loves it - the zigzag on that one put any Singer to shame. Tehy do take Singer 15 bobbins but thread a bit differently. If you get this, jopin the Necchi Yahoo group because they have files there with manuals for those machines made in Italy. I hope this helps.

First, I answered your second message that you sent me. On your first message sent to me, you asked me to send the coil spring information to your private email address.

Since you have never posted even an introduction on the Quilting Board, I was just going to ignore you.

Sorry if that comes across as being unkind, but all that is needed is to post the question here on this thread for the information, and I will try my best to answer the question.

Second, I had already stated that I can't remember where I purchased the coil since I didn't keep that record.

Third, I stated aquarium tubing or just the leather belt is much better to use in my opinion than the metal coil.

Now, I hope that I didn't offend anyone with this open message to Fulvster, BUT I find it ODD that someone needs to send a private message to me for this information...AND that the person has never before posted to the QB. It leaves me wondering, what is the real reason to hide?

I don't know how to tell a Necchi model from the back, but it looks like my BF. A very well made machine with a good strong stitch, though it's straight stitch only. Mine is in a cabinet with a knee control.

From the logo decal on the bed, VN, it is the Necchi BU VN model.

You're probably right. The motor is a 1/4 the size of the machine and bright shiny metal.The machine is about the size of a 99K. I need to look up the number.

Monica, I would be a little concerned to get a PM from someone who is not part of the board, but maybe, that person has been burned by groups and he/she is afraid of the group thing? Some people are just squeamish about asking anything - they are afraid of feeling dumb?
