Started having car trouble in southern Oregon. Finally got to Reno. My guy ran 3 blocks to the parts store before it closed, fixed the car and drove us to the courthouse for the license. Got there 30 minutes before it closed. Walked out the door and saw a Chapel across the street and, in spite of having dress clothes in the car, went straight there and were married in jeans and matching t-shirts that said 'Marriage causes dating problems'. A very memorable day indeed 18 years ago! Actually found one of the shirts a couple of days ago while cleaning out a dresser drawer.

I have mine (which I made); it was a Victorian skirt and blouse. I used to wear the blouse each year when my DH and I went out to celebrate our anniversary. That was before I ... lost my waistline. (I'm still looking for it!)
My mother kept her dress. And this year, my daughter tried it on. Doesn't it fit her perfectly?
The second is a picture of her holding my parents' wedding portrait.
The third is the bride and her granddaughter!
(How I wish I'd had the picture settings on my camera phone right for these! DD could try on the dress again but we could never create the emotion of this moment.)

I recently took the one from my first marriage out of its preservation box a couple months ago to use part of it in altering my step daughter's dress for her wedding. At first she was aghast cause she didnt want me to cut up my dress till I looked at her and said..."The only good this dress did for me was get me Drew (my darling son) and lead me along life's path to find you and your dad...so its only fitting it should be used to help you on your special day. She didn't say anything else after that but hug me and say lets get to it! LOL!!

I have mine boxed up with hubby's purple button-down. It's only been 3 years. My sister just got married, so I sent her mom's dress for inspiration. She didn't wear it, but cut a bit from the bottom to wrap around her bouquet.

Mine is at my parents house. I actually still fit in to it; 2 kids and 3 non- pregnancy related surgeries, and 11.5 yrs later.
Being that I have boys, I can't imagine that it will be used again, but I can't part with it. :D
