My friend Lillian always told me to "buy for the depression" I've followed her advice for the last 20 years. Lol I love my stash when i retire someday I won't have to worry about running out of fabric because who knows how much it will cost by then!

Welcome to the club. I too have the same problem. I do try to get rid of my UFO's, but after I clean up, I start again, buy more fabric and wind up in the same place. I do give lots away to new quilters, to my church and their sewing class. I have a friend who donates to the local High School for their sewing class. Also those county run programs for unwed mothers could also use the fabric so the girls could learn to make qults.

300 baby quilts. So impressive. Could you post some of your quilts that you still have left? Would love to see them. You must have your own quilting machine. I would love to have a midarm or longarm!!!! I pay to have my quilted, which definitely runs up my cost of quilting, but I do love making quilts.

Yes I do... But it's YARN that I have so much of. I give mine to a Crafts Senior Center. But I'm still building my little stash of fabric.

I have fabric for days and will continue to buy it until I can't. I plan to retire next year and I want lots and lots of fabric to do my charity quilts. Every once in a while I keep one for me...imagine that!

Daisy, so sorry for your health scares. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. Try using up some stash, then when you feel better, shop a little for some accent pieces to go with your stash.

When I organized my stash closet, I did fell guilty (for just a minute) about how much fabric I have. Then I joined the UFO thread to try to complete 1 UFO a month (I have 53 of them). I took one of my UFOs out which is multiple pink fabrics. I need to add pinks to it and went through all my pinks and none go with the UFO! I guess that's why I keep buying fabric...

My stash is decent-sized but it doesn't seem to matter. I never have the right fabrics for my current project!
