Dublb my prayers are with you and your family at this time, I hope your DGM is able to get the physical therapy she will need and recover quickly. Please look after yourself also, it is important that you get the rest you need.

I promised photos yesterday but the day just seemed to disappear on me. Having DH home for the last 10 days has not helped

I also finished the Scrappy Stars but haven't posted a pic of it as I am disappointed with the quilting that my longarmer did on it. I gave her three photos, one of a quilt that had been quilted with Baptist Fans, another with a printout of a Baptist Fan showing 5 arcs and the last pic was of a quilt already on a frame showing 4 rows of a Baptist Fan. My blocks are 4 inches and the Baptist Fan she quilted was 13 inches high and 9 arcs so to me it looks like it is out of proportion. Am I being too picky ???????

The weather here has turned dark and stormy again, it has rained all night. DH just said to me "a good day to spend in your cave" then he said "after you bake some Banana Muffins, the good ones with the maple syrup" So I am off to the kitchen to bake

Mirabelle, Sylvia is still on the menu, I just posted there. Busy day in the sewing room; interrupted work with lunch and baking dh a chocolate cake...he does a lot for me. First mock up TW block:And the Sylvia blocks of six inches seemed like they were mimi's.Hope to do more tomorrow.

Mirab, those quilts are awesome. I love the quilting YOU did on the kaleidoscope quilt. Your work is awesome. I agree with you about the quilting on that beautiful star quilt--I think it looks too big. Looks like something I would do and I suck at quilting. I hate confrontation and would probably roll it up and stuff it in the closet but can you talk to her about it? Would she make it right? After all, you showed her examples and it looks like she hurried through it. It's too beautiful of a quilt and too much work to ignore the quilting.

QNS, do you have elves or someone helping you with all the quilting you do? I can't believe how much you get done. Those Sylvia blocks are lovely.

MiraB ... absolutely beautiful on both accounts!!! The scrappyness of the stars doesn't even look scrappy! I can understand your disappointment for the Stars FMQ and I agree the fans/arcs are totally out of proportion of those 4" stars. When you have a vision and a plan and have even provided good info, that's more than frustrating! It's still an incredible quilt. And DDs Kaleido is really amazing ... so regal looking and your quilting tops it all. I think you should just tell her, Trust Me DarlingDaughter, it will look better in Mommy's home ... and keep it for yourself!!!!!!!! Are you counting the days til MrMiraB returns to work? .... though gotta love him for wanting those muffins!! He has won me over for his Canadian'ism!

I agree that the quilting on your scrappy stars is out of proportion. I'm glad you're safe and the storm wasn't what they predicted. Your other quilt is also gorgeous. Well done.

I can't keep up with QNS, she is so prolific. I got one whole nine inch block made today for the TW quilt. I did do lots of cooking and cleaning today so I am feeling virtuous and I will sew lots more tomorrow. Oksewglad, I made ham and potato soup on Friday for my grandson as that is his second favourite soup, next to roasted tomato soup. great minds!

D_D, your Oops quilt is so cute, but I think it would drive me batty, I am too anal to make that quilt, but I'm glad you did. Well done.

    Hi to everyone else!

Here is my 50 40 or fight block. The camera cut the top of the block off, the left hand point is really there!

Mirabelle, there you go again, with two beautiful quilts; I agree with the members here about the large quilting on the one...hind sight is better than fore sight sometimes...guess the LA quilter thought her way was better.

JanieW, I think your TW is going to be great with its blues and greens. I am trying to guess at the colors Dh nephew and wife might like with my stash shopping...JanRN did you notice I took your advice on the block? Thinking of the snowball and how to do the corners now.

Honchey, I am sorry you are hurting so much. The clinic nurse told me to use Advil and it does help a bit. Are you going to start a new SYE for February or just let everyone post in January? I love how Anael and Carrie are posting the blocks expected each month and I try to set my goals for that schedule...but need time this month for Dear Jane, too. And the TW on the side.
