OK, all you VSMS people out there with various amounts of vintage sewing machine parts hanging around. My 1909 66-1 bobbin winder is in need of the spring for the thread guide. The spring I ordered from Sew-Classic is too small. We measured the old spring (the end broke off) ID, and the one she sent, and the original is larger. She checked all the springs she has, and it appears that my bobbin winder model takes a larger spring than bobbin winders made later.
So, does any one of you have that spring? It is for early 66-1's, and the ends have to be bent the right direction. Or does any one have a suggestion of what to do about it? Can we rig something up to work? Thanks!

A friend called and wants to buy a new sewing table from JoAnn's (she has a 60% off coupon plus a $15 off coupon) but her hubby won't allow it until she moves out the old one. She calls me. OMGosh....where would I put it?? She wants $15 for it and I'm thinking NO!!! Oh, okay....I'll take it. Dang it!!! Why oh why did she have to call me???? Where or where can I find a niche for it??? This is getting out of hand! Man cave, here I come!!!
Why did I ever click on this thread way back when??? I wouldn't be in this predicament now if I hadn't. You enablers!!!!

Bid on darn 15 and then I find them crawling out of the woodwork on CL!
Do any of these look like 15's?
This one says sears, but it says singer right on the machine.

You guys are serious enablers!! Does anyone know if accessories, feet bobbins, whatever, for the 66 are interchangeable with a 15?

To get rid of the poison weeds pour diesel fuel on them....that stuff kills any plant!! That is, if you are OK with a spot of ground that won't grow anything for about 10 years. Just a little should do it. And don't any of your environmentalists hiss at me!! This is an emergency deal just for Miriam!!
