I too have never participated in a BOM before, but I was planning one on my own next year with flower basket blocks from a book I have. I'd love to join this group, too. I LOVE stars, and have done a star quilt sampler, but always wanted to do a house quilt. I guess, I am trying to say that whatever goes, hopefully, I'll be able to follow. LOL.

How about a whole town? Maybe with the town square in the middle? Could surroung with bussinesses (LQS)Churches etc- surrounded by different houses? I love stars too. could throw a few in the corners? I am just thinking outloud - typing out loud?? :)

Jackie, You and I are on the same wave length. That was my suggestion also. Never thought of a towwn square. I like that idea. A gazebo in the park in the square.

I think there should be 2 different swaps. One for houses, one for stars. I do not want to do stars.
