Our berries are in a great spot, a couple of feet between the patio and block wall of our house. They are kept contained that way. My husband cuts out all the old vines in January, and puts the new vines on a wooden fencing he made. He has a drip hose on them, as we are such a dry area here. There are always new shoots that come up every year, which we have given to lots of people.

Love to go out and pick the berries to put on my cereal each morning!

I picked 3 quarts of berries this morning.
I have been painting in the afternoons & am slowly getting DM's office completed. I have 4 more louvered cabinet doors to put the last coat of paint on. then to hang the closet doors & put the hardware back on the other cabinets. I do believe that we will finish hanging the louvered doors tomarrow & that room will be complete. The utility room is next. It is gonna be real hard as there is a washer, dryer & refrigerator in there. It also has a closit that doesn't have any doors on it. So that has to be painted also. She doesn't want the doors on it as she wants to hang her clothes up in it as she takes 'em outta the dryer.

I owe an apologize to the persons I promised fabric boxes to mail; plans have gotten derailed by too many doctor bills pouring in and more are to come. It adds up in $$$, and one more doctor to go. Ear specialist can not see us until the end of August. I will try to get them mailed by Christmas. We are enjoying the New pullets, ducks, and young pullets putting on a big show. And I am working in an all clean QR on my Bible Sampler. One block ( 6 " finished) I worked on for 3 days. Current one has taken me two days. Flower beds are doing fine, except we do have to water them at least 3 days a week its so dry here.

Enjoy your summers where you live. Have a good one.

Glad you are enjoying your birds, Sue! They are fun to watch, aren't they? I would love to see your Bible sampler blocks, if you care to share pictures.

No worries...

I can't believe you are dry in MO...lots of the state has been getting rain..We've had plenty here...do get some every 3 or 4 days. Hay chopped today and some big rounds made...got the lawn mowed...now to do some more weed control. No sewing getting done except at work...

DH got a call from the skin cancer dr. his ear skin removed was cancer, so they will test it in the morning to see if they got it all. So rush rush in the morning to get there by his appointed time. Ducks are laying 100% one day a week; it goes from one to three most days. High protein duck food is expensive. Young fowl all eat the Flock feed for all fowl. They will move up to the layer pellets the first full week in September. Hopeful that they all lay everyday.

Since we live in North Central Mo. eight miles South of the Iowa line the rains go East or West around us almost 99% of the time. That is both good and bad...bad storms go around, but we need rain and forecast is dry here the next week. Iowa got a good inch and half, it just barely wet our windshield coming home in the 'storm'.

It is good that we have a two freezers full of food and a good supply of canned goods, and we can eat well without shopping for food. The more I explore them, the more I can fix balanced good meals. My Iron Skillet bread today had too much Coconut flour and oil; I will use just a little next time. It is so easy to make and bake in our iron skillets.

We bought some flowers this past weekend, and we planted things in the yard. We got some free flowers from a craigslist ad, such a treat that someone wanted to share! She also gave us rhubarb, and some raspberries. I'm making some peach jam tonight as we got so many peaches on sale at the market. This weekend we will go to my granddaughter's dance recital. So, I'm taking a little break from quilting. In case you girls didn't notice in the other thread my 9patch progress, here's the pic I shared there. I have to get enthused to quilt it next.

I have a favorite recipe for making skillet bread. I love my iron skillet.
We had a lot of rain, but the weather forecast for this week is pleasant. My husband can enjoy it while I am at work. :-) It was a beautiful day today! I went outdoors on my break to see it.
