Welcome to this li'le group SusieQ.
First a group of ladies did a sew-a-long to do the Farmer's Wife Sampler. Then they did another one called FWSPony Club. (That was when I joined 'em.) By the time the Pony Club quilt was finished we were all extra close friends & continued to talk. Some of 'em did the FWS 30's quilt yet we all still kept talking here. Actually the first thread got so many pages that we had to start another one. LOL We do have a few people that have joined us along the way & we welcome all. SO join us & talk about your life.
I agree about how mindless sewing can get ya through the rough times. I did a scrappy quilt when I was at home during my DM's hospitalization. & when I was sitting w/her & took a GFG that I was EPPing. Neither are done & I am gonna get back to 'em soon eventually.

I'd like ya'll to be praying for a 15yo girl that DD is fostering. She has been at DD's house for about 3 or 4 weeks. Her DM asked my DD to take her. Anyway she has become suicidal. They took her to the ER in San Angelo at about midnight. She will be admitted to an In-Patent facility for a few days. (I'm gonna refer to her as Dear Foster Granddarughter DFGD)

We are working on our Farmer's Wife 1930s quilt, although it has been a while since anyone posted their blocks. Generally, we just 'talk' like its a coffee club about our lives and quilting. I have my blocks done, but need to set them together for the finish. My optic nerve blew out in the left eye, and then swelled up in my right eye, so I have some problems seeing, but by the grace of God and a stranger who became a friend, I was driven by her to Des Moines, Iowa to a specialist who helped me see 90% in the right eye. (Seven times in one year she drove me the 250 miles plus to the specialist) How do you ever thank that friend for the gift of sight??? (she also quilts) I feel very blessed seeing as well as I do, but I no longer drive, although I do keep my license up to date.
Occasionally, we do show the quilt projects we are working on Susie and you are welcome to chat with us and show us what you are working on. We range residing from the sea to the shinning sea and Texas of the USA and in-between and that's why we chat here. Once in the great while we might meet with another but generally, we just chat here.

Susie, this thread was made for a QAL group doing the Pony Club blocks by Laurie Hird a few years ago. After that, we moved on to her 1930's blocks, and did that book as a QAL. Some of us are still finishing up our quilts, but mostly this has evolved into a chat group of the friends that were made during the QALs. You are welcome to chat and visit with us! Share what you are working on and what's going on in your life...
I hope your mom is doing well in rehab.
