Yes I did the quilting on this little quilt, didn't take me too long. All the blocks are SID and then a feather in the setting triangles.

I won't show you the other gnome in the back garden, he is a very naughty gnome he is hidden in the bushes

I have spent the afternoon making the last of my disappearing 4 patch blocks, all 20, boy are they quick to put together

The Asian Scrappy Road will be put on the to do list, hopefully for not too long, I have a few other projects that I want to finish,

Gotta go, DS is coming over for dinner and I haven't started anything, at this rate he might get eggs on toast instead of marinated lamb chops

LOL now we want to see the gnome in your back garden

Your quilting is gorgeous, now long did it take you to be this good? Do you do your feathers completely freehand or do you draw them on the fabric?

I don't eat lamb after my mom told me a horror story about how they get the chops so neat and all the same

I'm off track again, should be catching up with my Barbara Brackman blocks but sewing the 2012 BOM quilt from this board instead. I copied a lay out I saw on another board, making the chain blocks now. I hope it all works out!

Definitely not taking a photo of the naughty gnome, might break the camera he belongs to DH

The feathers are all freehand, they are the holy grail of quilting and I have been practising for a very long time.

I attended my first patchwork class in 1987, obtained my tutors accreditation in 1993 and every day since has been a learning curve. Only in the past 10 years have I really been focused on the quilting not just the patchwork. Late at night when I can't sleep I watch a lot of Youtube videos on longarm quilting, do a lot of doodling and then try and make my version, sometimes it works most times it doesn't but I keep practising.

Please show us what you are working on Anael, would love to see

This is what I'm working on. For the chain blocks I used the same fabric as I used in some of the blocks, maybe I shouldn't have looking at it now?

Anael--I like the blue fabric you used...the blocks flow together nicely. I really like the block in middle on the bottom row.

Mirabelle--that is a pretty little quilt...such soft colors. Someday I might start practicing FMQ on small stuff...for now I just do SITD or echo quilting.

Well...I have some exciting news and some bad too...bad first: my sewing machine may be on hold for a while. Exciting: My DDH found me a bigger "clubhouse". It is a hip-roof shed, ~12ftx20ft...with an upstairs that has standing room! I am more than doubling what I currently have!! (12x12 w/small-crawling-loft space). I wasn't thinking when we went to look at it yesterday, but the kids want to see so will take them by and get a couple pictures. It was built several years ago and needs lots of TLC, but we can't beat the price even when figuring in moving, insulation, sheeting, etc to finished it. It is already wired for electricity so that is helpful.

DH will be talking to some people this week to set up a time for moving it here. I could have it on our property by February, then will start tearing out old carpet, taking off sheeting so we can insulate and just general clean up. For now we will just finish the main floor and upstairs will be storage...and the kids think a "play house". We shall see. Of course everyone has their own ideas of what my current clubhouse will become. LOL I told them to keep thinking on that since it will be late spring before everything is all ready for me to move!

Thank you carriem! The block in the middle of the bottom row will be the centre block when finished. Meaning I have to make an extra block as I need 13 and only have 12. I think a houseblock would be nice.

Congrats on your new clubhouse! Moving a shed is new to me, how do they do that?

Carrriem, congrats on the new clubhouse--it sounds fantastic. I just keep spreading all over the house. Maybe MrJanRn will get tired of it and find me a new place (wait--knowing him he'd say to get my own apartment LOL). I'm very jealous.

Mirab, I love gnomes and yours is the greatest! I'm picturing your gnome, my cement dog, and QE's bear partying the night away while we're all asleep. And that quilt--awesome!! Love the colors and the quilting is amazing. Freehand? Wow!

Anael, I love the bright colors in your quilt. I'm intrigued also by the middle block in the last row. Pattern? Great job.

Aneal, love the blocks in the new quilt.

Mirabelle, your grome is a cheeky little rascal. Needs some clothes on...maybe a cowboy hat over his rear?

Carrie, what exciting news for Spring, Wow!! And you can fix it all up your way!! (Green with envy!!) Dh has decided that my quilting is just a hobby...that I no longer need to do it as much as I do...in almost 47 years together he has not yet learned very much about me...he makes his comments as he goes off to surf the internet for more garden tools he does not need.

We are now rotating the kitchen work, he has odd days, so today is my chance to 'shine' and let the dishwater 'soften' my hands today. Of course, its all his big 'idea'...will see how long this shall last.

Mirabelle...your quilt is beautiful. You have really polished your quilting skills. I'm still enjoying piecing so much that I haven't gotten serious about doing the quilting. I am doing a Baptist Fan on my PC blocks using my walking foot and I do like how quilting dresses up and finishes a block. I also got an instruction book that seems real helpful but she said that magic word too....practice. I want to know how to do it NOW but it sure ain't happening!
Anael...your quilt is beautiful. Beautiful creations can be very distracting. It happens to me all the time.
Carrie....getting a bigger club house certainly trumps a sewing maching. You will have room for a Longarm and design wall now! How nice that your DH saw the need.
Jan...did you get your dog redressed before the cold came? We had freezing rain and sleet last evening and it's not supposed to get above freezing for a couple of days.
More work on the Ocean Wave today. I think I have enough triangles sewn for a couple more blocks which will be enough for my class project then I can make it a true header/ended project and get other projects completed.
have a great day everyone!
