Back home again. I went for broke....got the Bernina 550, (its is new, just out for a couple of weeks) with BSL and walking foot and the quilter's 1/4 foot,(plus other feet) the school desk sewing table, and a wheat/white sewing chair. The chair was free, financed the other half of costs on 18 months at no interest charged. Bought the fabric to make my dh his own Irish Mist quilt, fabric set for quilt ran $81.00 at Creekside Quilts. Also picked up pieces for future MBs.
Also visited SAS shoes and bought one pair, and ordered another pair. Received the T. Mist package from LadyBug Hill quilts in Colorado. Each piece of fabric come labelled so I will know how it fits into the pattern.
Anael, what a sweet picture of the SewGrands!! So precious and cute. How they are growing!!
Dublb, heard from a lady in CC, they had 1 1/2 inches of rain there. Enough drinking water in the lake to last two years for the city...if it does not rain, they will have real problems there.
Very tired from the trip. Will see everyone tomorrow.

Congrats on the new machine, QNS--you deserve it! Let us know how you like it. Is the Irish Mist quilt the first one you'll make on it?
Anael, that pic makes my heart smile!!
Went on a FART to a brand new LQS today. Awesome!! The mother of the gal that owns it is the inventor of the Big Foot and Little Foot attachments and has many copyrighted patterns to her name. She is amazing--her quilts hang all over the shop. Ggal, you would have loved it. She has taken the Pineapple Pattern in a whole new direction with fussy cutting, off-setting the center block, adding small strips like stained glass, using jungle prints, etc. I couldn't believe it was the Pineapple Block. She spent about 20 min with us demonstrating her technique for the Grandmother's Fan pattern. Perfect circles and NO applique. She foundation pieces but not from the back sewing in reverse. She has copyrighted her invention of sewing onto the paper that is marked with 1/4" seams so there's no twisting and turning and your fabric is placed in the position it ends up in (does that make sense?). She & her daughter were so nice and helpful without being overbearing. She only had about 75% of her fabric out but had a pretty good selection already. I did practice restraint and only bought a pattern and a few FQ's but they were so awesome to us that we're already planning a return trip. So many of her beautiful quilts on display--I was walking around with my mouth hanging open!
More good news (I really had a great day!)--I sold my mother's house. Signing the papers tomorrow. What a weight lifted; it's been hard running back and forth and keeping it clean, grass cut, etc. I'm so happy & relieved. Just had to share with yinz.

Sue. My DM ordered some white sandals from SAS for me on Mon. I went back yesterday plannin' on gittin' some blue ones just like the white ones that DM ordered for me. They don't make the blue ones in size 5 1/2M. They had some blue ones in another style so I bought those. The difference is they don't have the back strap. I'm havin' a hard time learnin'ta walk w/o the back strap. They are a pretty blue. I'm glad they are able ta order the white ones in my size.
Midland has contracted w/Ward county ta use water that is pumped from a underground aquafer. We built a pipeline & will have enough drinkin' water for at least 50 years. If it rains it will last longer. The pipeline will be finished by the end o' May.
PS congratulations on the new machine.

Oh my QNS--have some fun!! And new projects to practice on.
A red letter day for sure, Jan. I was wondering how the house sale was going just the other day. What a burden off your shoulders.
Sounds like a fun LQS to go to!

JanRN, sounds like you found a real gem in LQS...would she allow you to take pictures....just enough to tease the rest of us into ordering from her?? Wonderful that you sold your Mother's home.
Dublb, way to go on the Brady homestead...guaranteed privacy owning the extra lots.
The t. Mist and dh mist will be quilted on the new machine. As I sew mine, will also sew dh's quilt as well. I have the center of the Triangle Star done, and the Iowa stars done for the Farmers Scrap Quilt. I will also quilt the BBs on the new machine. Never have had a sewing cabinet before; pick that up on the 18th of May, IF I can get over to bf in time to get to Des Moines by 9 o'clock...cannot imagine doing that! will try for the free lesson. then...or reschedule. It takes me an hour and half to get to bf's home....add on another hour an half to that...
