Michele Foster has posted lesson 7 on her site Aim for Accuracy. I had to admit on five and six, I had forgotten how to download. Michele was very nice about reminding me the 'how' to do it...thanks to her, I was successful in downloading it.

Carrie, what is your pattern called or is it one you designed...lovely.

OK--can't wait to see your newest mini quilts.

QNS--The pattern I am using is called "The Big EZ II" http://www.bloomcreek.com/store/prod...s/?product=177 Where the pattern has 4 squares together I altered to make a border for the embroidered blocks. The very middle block will be one of the green prints since there are 13 spaces and only 12 months.

I am really happy with how this one is coming together. I liked the fabrics all stacked up, but really like them now that they are cut and surrounding the month blocks.

MiraB ... and sometimes when your DH is home, you are searching for tiger flower coordinates!!! Has it arrived? And has he changed his choice, yet again?

QNSue .. your pansies are indeed beautiful! Your friend couldn't help but love it!

CarrieM ... it's beautiful (as though we didn't all know that before you started stitching!). It must take some figuring to make sure you get the right fabric, in the right place. And yes .... a larger design wall is in order!! I sometimes wonder how I managed without one!

OKSGlad ... you've been really in production on those Minis! Taking one to the family reunion tmro? Tell Ilean, she is not included in that family, and drop her off at a service centre along the way!! Have a safe trip, and enjoyable day with your family!

CarrieM ... just saw your later post and how you like the fabrics more now that you are working with them! For the 13th block, instead of the green ... what about doing an embroidered block, to tell the story of the quilts (who did what and when)? It would be so appropriate for this quilt.

No sewing for me today ... was gone longer than I'd expected, and when I got home, allergies had me zonked. So am hoping for an early start tmro ... I need it, if I am going to make my deadline!

Good Night Ladies!

Working on mini #4. The last two I had the 9P blocks already made-just a matter of squaring them up and deciding quilt layouts and fabrics. When I get these done I will do the quilting on all four.
The log cabin is made up of random light and dark 3/4" pieces so colors can be so unpredictable. Then I have to search thru the stash to find just the right fabric for borders and of course needs to be of a smaller scale.
The smaller one was a "planned" quilt from some EQ playing. Yikes I "had" to cut "new" fabric for the HST's and worse yet 3/4" strips for the side rails.
The 9P's speak to me as I search for coordinating fabrics and layouts. Selecting fabrics takes the longest--a fabric explosion in quilt space! Hope to post the next two tomorrow night.

OKSGlad .... you really should do a mini dedicated to those delicious pickles ... perhaps all in greens?

I can't keep up with you all

QNS, gorgeous Pansies! Do you make the second one just like this one?

Carrie, that's going to be a wonderful quilt!

Mirabelle, your block has been approved

Here's my next Star from the 50 fabulous Stars. Are you still leaning and thinking Mirabelle?

Anael--another pretty block.

My plan is to start the 50 stars in January. I also want to start Dear Jane in January. I will get all the patterns printed and cut out and fabric chosen before that. My goal will be at least one star, one DJ triangle block and two square DJ blocks per week. I am sure some weeks I will do more than that. I figure if I wait until January, it will motivate me to get some more of my UFOs finished before starting something new. Plus I have no idea what fabrics I want to use so need some time to figure that out too!!

CarrieM ... oh my, you are ambitious ... to have them all DJ and Stars, cut out for January. My goodness, you won't have time for those UFOs before then!

MiraB ...yes, got your email. Was gone most of yesterday and replied to QB, but not emails last night. Will reply to emails this morning. YOurs will be #1 on the hit parade!

Anael ... I'd say you caught the Alaskan spirit in that block, quite well. Take note, I am not going to let MiraBs email ferment for long. Have a FUN twin day ... and is this the LadyBug day for Mick, too?

And today ......... my marathon to finish that topper!

QE--I bring my paper trimmer in the house and cut out patterns while watching tv with the family in the evenings. It doesn't take too long. Since I made cards/taught classes for years I am very comfortable with a paper trimmer. Don't worry it won't take away from my sewing time.
