Carrie I love your final border, very unique and just frames your centre perfectly I followed along with this group, (just lurking) and was really impressed with the quilts that were being created... I love medallion quilts, so well done

Thanks Ladies I actually have the next border just about done and then will add one more before calling it finished.
Mirabelle--I agree there have been some great medallion quilts made over the last several months!
Did anyone else get some sewing time this weekend? Things are starting to turn green around here...lots of rain last week. Sunny days and warmer weather in the week to come!

CarrieM ... what a great addition to the quilt. Is that what you called the Dancing Piano Key Border? And more to come ... look forward to seeing them!
I did a little sewing this weekend, but my focus was on one of my other May goals.
.......... the table has now been sanded and refinished. Sanding in between coats to get it nice and smooth, took a lot of finish off each time, so I kept at it and now with four coats, it is finished off nicely. I was tempted to stop at #3, but know one more, would make it so much nicer!!! (at least, I hope it is, once dried!). So strike this one off the May goal list.

QE--yes, that is what some of the ladies were calling it on the medallion thread. Be sure to show us a picture of your table!

CarrieM ... nice addition with today's border! Nothing special about the table ... just a typical folding banquet type table that we had made years ago, as an extra table for family gatherings. The finished was worn badly, so it was time to freshen it up!

Working on a couple of wall hangings and mini apple cores. Thinking of OK as I do it. Mama and kittens are a work in progress; math seems a bit off. To have a finished 2.5 triangle...one must start with a 3.0 square and the pattern does not. Mama Cat ends up 6.5 block and kittens are 2.0 (or 2.5)by 6.5. Will work on that today. Also have a thimble adjustable pattern for possible scrap making using up pieces thinking of Mirabelle as I do so. Will try to send an email to her about the patterns. Quick and easy solution for massive scraps. I did like her 'flying geese' use of scraps. The EB is busy producing at her home.
Love Carrie's quilt too; the colors an design is done so well. May get my camera back this week; really missing it as the flower beds are in full bloom.

Carrie...so glad to see that you are getting some quilting therapy. I love the dancing piano key border.
Mirabelle...beautiful work as usual. I admire you for your chariety quilt work. Something I need to begin doing.
DD...so glad to hear from you! So much creativity! The Austen quilt hasn't had any difficult blocks so far and the Dowten Abby fabric looks good with it. My DD2 found out I was using that fabric line and started drooling. She doesn't know the fabric but she is a DA fan. When I told her the colors, she said those were the colors she was planning to use on the house she is buying. I would never have guessed. Totally different from what she has used before. Long story short, she has claimed that quilt and will be watching the progress very carefully.
QNS...have fun with the QB visit. Always nice to enjoy the company of someone with similar interests!
i didn't do so well with my April goals. May's are very modest. The garden and family will occupy much more of my time.
OK... Nothing more distressing than family when things get out of whack.
April goals....SYE and blue scrappy made into flimsies.
Stay current with BOMS
Binding on at least one quilt back from LA
Get class kits made
Kind of lost my focus and started two new quilts. They are BOMs or BOWs so since I'm now caught up, I can think a little more rationally about what needs to be done.
May....bind two quilts
Stay current with BOMS
Work on QAYG with the Civil War quilt
Today I'm preparing for my trip to family in IL and WI. My sewing machine will be traveling with me and I'm planning to get the signed book for Anael. DD mentioned a couple of other quilt shops in her area....maybe some Ladies Alblum?
