MY DM is in the hospital. I have been spending a lotta time w/her. Taking turns w/my DSis &other family members. I do have another DSis that has only been there for a couple of hours the first day. Sigh! She has been there since Fri.

PS I love the quilt givo! It just shines!

Not quilt the Mother's Day you wanted Bev, but at least you are there for her. Hope you mom improves quickly.

Today my daughter is here and we planned out and started an adorable baby quilt for her friend's new baby. Friend lives in England and daughter is soon going to visit her, so we had to get this quilt done quick! We got the hard part of it done today... all the planning and making the big applique for the center. I will finish it up this week and send it to my daughter to take on her trip. It's so cute. I'll show you all when it's done.

So we were talking about quilting with our daughters, remember? And for this Mother's Day I got to quilt with my daughter! She's not generally interested until she has a need or a project she wants to get made... then she's interested! I'm still doing all the sewing, but at least this time she sat and watched the way I did everything and maybe now she sees it's not so hard and will try on her own some time. I hope so. She's very creative and I think it will give her a lot of pleasure.

So how was your Mother's Day???

Mine was quiet and peaceful. I read a couple of books. Cooked my Beef vegetable soup and loved it. Keyboard quit working and daughter took my call Sunday morning and was very hhhelpful and got it working again. . . by her remote access.

I might get back into the quilt room tomorrow. All the flowers I bought have been planted. Now to weed another flower bed as soon as I can...it is overdue to be done... LOL!

I've wondered about Sheri's Berries. I hear them advertised a lot. It's good to know they actually are good! Might try some instead of flowers next time I need to send a gift.

Today I went in and had the first of my tests done at the hospital. They drew out half my blood (felt like!), and did an ultrasound. The little tech girl poked and prodded all around my liver and gall bladder til I thought she was going to break a rib. After all the pictures she took, I sure hope they can tell something. I am so tired... have been sleeping every night and also every afternoon.

After the tests I was already halfway to Vicksburg, so I went ahead and drove out there to my favorite quilt shop, StichnFrame. I bought a sack full of fabrics. After Paducah, I must have lost my mind to do that. It sure was fun tho. Some were clearance priced down to $2.99! And I got some more Kaffe Fassett to do a border and enlarge a quilt I got in a kit.

Yes QNS, a quiet day here, too...the usual farm Mother's Day...fixed dinner for the farm kids...Emily made a cake for dessert. MrOK worked in the field later in the day. His sister drove over to visit the cemetery...their mom's BD was on Sunday; then she and DH stopped for a nice surprise visit
Calls from the Grands of course....
Worked the past two days..now to catch up here...
Bev, Hoping your mother is better...hugs....

I forgot to say I worked yesterday and discovered my boss bought an ironing board that lowers enough for me to sit & press and that's what I did yesterday..I starched & pressed a bunch of fabric, about thirty 1/4 yards..fixed the handle on the new vacuum that fell off and the bottom part took off..It was so funny...

OK, are you still working part time at the quilt shop?

Sewbizgirl, looking forward to seeing your border. :-) $2.99 a yard? That's hard to pass up! That's a fat quarter price these days... I'm glad you got the tests out of the way.

The Kaffe Fassett border wasn't one of the $2.99 fabrics... But I needed it! I still owe my son and daughter in law their "wedding quilt" and they have been married a year now. Every time I think I am making a quilt they will love, I chicken out. I guess I just don't know my new daughter in law well enough yet to know what kind of quilt she would love. But I got my daughter's opinion on the Kaffe Fassett quilt and she thinks they would love it. So I just need to make it a bit bigger and get it done for them. I may even pay one of my talented long armer friends to do something special with the quilting on it.
