Jan, I like your first four fabrics. E is sashing and I'd like a stronger color than the pink mottled. The brighter brown with the pink Good and Plenty shapes on it doesn't play well with the softer prints, IMO. So I'd go with the first four and a more solid appearing bright pink for the sashing. I think you can wait on cutting the sashing until later in the mystery.

I haven't played in my stash yet, nor finished the border on the last mystery. I need to take off the one that's on now. The tipped bricks are cool, but too wide for my daughter's space.

I'm full of a Culver's Turtle Sundae so no wine for me tonight, but some herb tea would be lovely right now. Culver's has very good caramel. Ice cream lovers will have to try some Culver's frozen custard with caramel sauce when the train travels to the Midwest.

Irishrose: thanks for the completely honest appraisal of my fabrics! I knew that neither of my E's worked, but ... wasn't sure why. So I'll just wait on that one until further in as you suggest.

everose - enjoy that trip to san jose. i used to live there and now live less than two hours away. still have not gotten to the textile musuem. they just completed "quilt national", a big juried show that only comes here every few years. i dittzed around and missed it again. my understanding is that it is a great place to visit.

hope everyone had a good mother's day. my son and daughter-in-law cooked chili verde and chili colorado for everyone. yummy. i got to bring some home.

JanTX, your colors look great! With all the talk about food...oh my! We will have variety, especially for folks like yaya who've had past difficulties. I'm sure there will be plenty.

We did Mother's Day on Saturday and took my 84 year old mother to Cedar Key. It's like a step back into...the 40's or early 50's. But oh! The heart of palm salad and Cuban black beans were worth the trip.

Today I'm off to Panera for the breakfast souffle and then to the LQS for a day long class. That was my Mother's Day Gift fronm DH. And DS sent flowers...quite a switch from nothing for any holiday for two years. Maybe he's finally growing up? Keep the train at the station till I get there!

I finaly got home last night after a long train ride! Had a wonderful weekend with most of my sibs and Mom. It was fun. Also the wedding was perfect! Dress fit fine, and my niece is so darling. But I am taking a break from wedding dresses for a while! All nieces are now married except the two young ones still in teens!

I love the selections you ladies have made so far. I think I am going to go with Navy blue and Pink. I have an idea for a quilt in my head for my 4 year old great Niece... Having a huge family is great for a quilter, I have a home for all of my "experiments"

I can't wait for the Long Beach Quilt show, hope some of us will be able to meet up! OK I am heading into my sewing room, I have missed it so much and have some new books I picked up in Sacramento at a second hand store to look through.

    Happy Sewing~
