hmmmm 5,000 posts, I am sure we will reach 5,001 in the next few days and then we can have a party in the RV. Yes who would have thought that 3 years ago when we started our FWS that we would still be here chatting and sewing and chatting some more, and looked how far we have come...

QNS I hope you continue to feel better.

Today I am going to do some sewing, just sewing, I have finished the last of the charity quilts so now to get some projects moving along, cause there are just too many quilts I want to make. DH really likes Shakespeare in the Park so I may start that before the end of the year. Am having lunch with DS at our favourite café so will check back in later today.

Cleaned and cleared on my bedroom and bath; filed papers and typed up the books to donate. Whew!! That felt good.

PC files are filed, so I can grab the project this fall (flowers) and just do it. Tomorrow, the living room and quilt room. Goal is see how much I can do to get ready for Wednesday. And set up the sewing room then on Thursday.

I really don;t know how my lungs are doing, time will tell. Thanks for the kind words.

Yes, let's party hardy in the RV when we cross the 5000th post.

I worked on my MB & my FFC yesterday. oh alright it was last night & th'smornin'. :) I actually had an asthma attack so I drank some double strength black tea. It did take my asthma but kept me up all night. I finally went ta bed at 5:00am. So I sewed last night. :) I have a bit more ta do on 'em. :) I used the same pattern for both o' 'em.
I've only been w/ya'll for a year & a half but feel like I've know ya'll all my life. :)

Trouble Shoot for me please, Ladies!
I've been doing some FMQing.
All is well when I do my practice pieces ... same fabric, batting, and thread.
Then switch over to the real thing ... stitches fine for awhile, then every once in awhile it misses stitches, then will stitch fine for awhile again, then miss again (several stitches ... not just one ...... and no, I have not been able to catch it to see if several stitches are sewn but missed or if it seemingly jumps.
Then I go back to the practice pieces ... all is good.
Then back to the real thing ... same problem.

Any thoughts?
Please and Thanks!! :D

In the midst of it all, I stopped and did a super good cleaning, and all seemed good for awhile, and I thought, OK, I got it .... then, miss again. So that's when I shut down for the night and tied in my loose ends. Seems like I spent more time reverse stitching today, than the progress made.

Otherwise ... I'm pleased with my progress and like the looks of what I'm doing!
but grrrrrrrrrrrrrr   :hunf:

JeanieG ... Now you know why I was envying you and your Fusions stash. You could do it totally with them! I know what you mean about the print size, I was thinking of some that'd be just perfect ... then went, duh! ... too big of print for the exploding kaleido look they give.

JanRN ... we need to "see" what you are talking about!! :D Sometimes those multi-colours in batiks can give such nice effects.

Honchey ... and whose counting? :D

MiraB ... How nice that you will satisfy your husband's quilty desires! Have a FUN time with your DS.

QNSue ... too hot here to even think of 1/2 of what you did, let alone do it! So I hunkered down in my sewing room!!! YIPPPEEEE!!!

DublB ... looking forward to seeing what you have brewed up for your FFC! :)

Change the needle and rethread the machine...have you tried shutting down the machine and restarting when you change pieces???somethings not right when changing the mode of sewing..something is not going back to where it needs to be to perform the correct function..I would call where you purchased for more info...

HELLO Ladies :D :D :D

good to be back home for a couple of days! I see we are planning new projects? I cant seem to find which QOTS project yall are considering?

BACK home! for a few days at least and then off again, I will have to get in gear and sew my next MB before weeks end.

HERE is the block I made for BBev.

Been working on the second half of my PC Quilt this week. I'm putting on the final borders, and hope the fabric is ok! You know how that goes, second thoughts! Will take a photo when I'm done.

Lovely block DD. Bev will be tickled pink! Sounds like everyone is getting into a nice routine of working on projects. Me, I'm at a stand still until DDIL heads home on the 23rd. Meanwhile she and I managed noon meal with 7 between the ages of 12 and 2 at the table. What a workout!!!! Tonight she fixed a great quiche with garden kale and eggs from other DDIL's hens. I cleaned up the kitchen!
In the down time of traveling--waiting for planes etc. I finished "The Hunger Games", started and finished "Catching Fire" and now almost done with "The Mockingjay". Interesting trilogy in futuristic USA. So full of topics to discuss I wouldn't know where to start. Been a nice break from the usual as I don't read hardly at all. Kind of sad as I was a voracious reader before. I quilt instead!!
Honchey, sounds like good advice for QE!
Everyone--stay healthy; continue to get better, and care for yourselves and your loved ones. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Night all.

QuiltE when that happens to me and it does happen a lot I change the needle, my preferred needle for all sewing and embroidery is a Topstitch 80 but depending on the thread you are using for FMQ you may want to try a 90.

This is what is says in my machine manual

The machine skips stitches

Is the needle inserted correctly
Do you have the wrong needle
Is the needle bent or blunt
Is the machine threaded correctly
Is the needle too small for the thread

It seems it is all about the needle, good luck and I hope you can figure it out..
