QuiltE, did you notice I did stick to the plan? :D :D There's a first time for everything :) I had a hard time not wandering away from the blocks but I didn't. I'm proud of myself.......LOL LOL

OMG that is one absolutely beautiful exquisite quilt top, I just can't stop looking at it, each time you look you see something different. But my favourite block is the one with the three stars and stem and leaves..:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumb up::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::t humbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Or maybe I like the block in the second row from the top with the purple petals and green centre:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: :eek: I just may have to look at this quilt top a little closer:D

Anael--as you posted the blocks I thought each one was really pretty, but seeing them all together...WOW! It is great!! Like Mirabelle, I see a different "favorite" each time I look.

Gasp....Anael....your quilt is jaw dropping gorgeous!!!!!! What is the name of the pattern again? That would be one I would put in my bucket list. I love it.:D:thumbup: It is both colorful and creative. I'm sure you will figure out how and when to do the quilting. Your love will never ruin it!
Friday night our refrigerator died in the 90 degree heat too! Saturday my DH went shopping for something that would fit in the space we have. Not a big kitchen designed when all of the appliances were smaller. He scored and arranged to have a new fridge delivered yesterday...got it at Lowes. It fits perfectly but seems to hold a lot more than the old one of the same size. When moving things around yesterday, I jammed my toe on the table leg...I'm always barefoot in the house...and I think I broke it. Fortunately it's the one next to my big toe so I can walk on the side of my foot and get around fairly good. I had planned to do up apples but I think a day in the sewing room is more in order. Maybe....

Anael, that is the most awesome quilt ever!! Your colors are so pretty and each block is prettier than the last one--I couldn't pick a favorite either. I can't imagine doing something like that. Love it!!

Great MBs again this month, ladies. And they're filling in a future quilt nicely.

I just got caught up on the posts and apologize for lack of comments. I'm kind of back to work full-time and trying to decide if I'm going to keep doing it or go back to one day a week or just flat out retire. I'm so blessedly healthy for my age that I feel guilty not working. If I thought I was taking a job away from someone who needed it, I'd leave but when we have a job opening, no one wants it (pay in doctor's offices is much lower than that in clinics or hospitals). Lots of thinking to do. Any advice?? Finances don't play a part in the decision; it's entirely up to me and what I want to do.

Hope everyone will have a great Labor Day. Maybe a picnic or a parade or time with family. Enjoy (and yes, Anael, get out those Sunday dishes!)

Thank you ladies :) :)

GG, it's from www.frommyhearttoyourhands.com and the pattern is called Ode to the 1930's A Sampler Quilt.
It's still available.
You're like me, always barefoot but I never broke anything. So will you be wearing shoes from now on?

I saw Anael's quilt on her thread and yes I had the same reaction everyone else has had. Anael your quilt will never be finished because even when you do actually put that last stitch of binding on; you will revisit the quilt as you touch it and your mother's memory will be forever in your heart and soul.

OK, thanks! You've said it so well.
It would have been lovely to have a daughter myself but I don't. I do have a granddaughter and I want her to have this quilt once I'm gone. There won't be more grandkids so she will be the only granddaughter I'll ever have.

SO SO purdy Aneal :D :D :D I really wonder if you could find someone to hand quilt it??? That would be amazing I think.
but YOU are great at machine quilting! why are you worried about messing it up? your work would be FABULOUS!!! maybe it is just nerves. :D
