Here's a preview... Keeping it simple and learning curls at the same time...

It's coming along beautifully Teen. I just love those adorable little curls in the small yellow border! Enjoy your time tomorrow.

Thanks for the links NZ. Some settings are interesting. I used a 9P as alternative block for my Sylvia the Farmer's Bride :) I shared a picture some time ago here in this thread.
Teen, have a great time with your MIL. Time spent with family is more important than quilting, even if it's a Sylvia :D We can wait one more day! |
Are you backtracking all those curves Teen? Wow!!!
|
Such beautiful quilting, Teen! I love the curls and airy look it has. What machine do you use for your quilting? Your stitches look so uniform!

Here's a link to a Splendid Sampler finished quilt. The blocks are 6" sq. https://bevanddara.com/2017/08/15/it...-still-sewing/ I think this would be an interesting setting for the SBS quilt also. This setting makes the blocks look like they are floating right off the quilt.
Here's another interesting setting as well. Say you didn't want to make all of the SBS Blocks. And, make an alternative block in between.....This setting could be fun too.http://www.shopmartingale.com/ss17.html (60 Block, 4 Patch and Chain) Top Pattern |

No packing for me today, as I woke up this morning with a horribly bad back. I am lucky and my chiropractor can see me this evening, so I know I'll be as good as new soon. But... no packing means sewing time!:D I got three blocks done. I might remake F-6. Thanks, Judith, for your FQs! They are already in use!

Awesome blocks, NZ. So sorry to hear about your back pain. Hopefully, chiro will get you sorted out quickly. Sewing can hurt it too so take your breaks... Oh yes...I remember wanting to re-do some of mine. I ended up re-doing 5 with a list that held about 12. I look at the blocks in the quilt and you can't even tell. Anael warned me of this and she was right.
Thanks for the comments on FMQ. Yes, I am backtracking...it's challenging since visual is impaired from domestic so it's not perfectly done. (man, I need a long arm). My domestic is a Babylock Symphony... Just returned home and I'm going to finish this up now....just working on the double curl in the borders on the sides now...should be done in an hour then I need to move to dining room table for binding part. |

Teen - the quilting is great. Judith thanks for the sites also. I'm thinking about the float look - like the one in the book - just haven't decided on the colorway yet. But do have a few blocks left to go and even tho I've been producing some SBS blocks this week, this could be it for awhile as I get into a couple new quilts. I redid my Love in a Mist block this morning, and then went on to make a couple more. G6 Grace's Friendship (which to me almost seems an odd block for a sampler - but it's done now); and L4 Bride's Bouquet (may have to release a stitch or two on that one).

Auntjo....turned edge applique looks great! Well done!! Cute block and I thought it was an odd block, too. I think it just represents an "applique" block and the "age of design" but I would have probably designed something different. You and Donna both rock on Y-seams. Excellent re-do though your first one probably looked great too.
Binding tomorrow....phew... |
