Very rainy weekend here, good for staying in & quilting. But we still managed a fun family outing yesterday to 2 historic sites in our own backyard that we had just never gotten around to visiting. I did not enjoy D-7 (Robbing Peter to Pay Paul) very much, considered just appliqueing it on, but am taking to heart the advice I've heard before on this thread - so much going on with the finished quilt, little mistakes will not be too evident.

these are great Donna. Peter block looks wonderful...doesn't look like you had any issues. Love D10...polka dots...yummy..
so, I was playing today and didn't feel like starting another project yet. Needed some down time; however, when cleaning sewing nook today and came upon my pile of thread clippings from the back of my Sylvia. Not sure why I didn't just throw away but I keep them, stuck them in a baggie and put on shelf.....I decided to make me a momento of SBS journey and also try an art fabric technique on my bucket list. Attached is the result...lol! not sure if you can see but there are little crystals scattered..it really twinkles in person.......and excuse the shoddy binding....it's a 6" mug rug...

Thanks, Donna and Bluebell.. I started another applique pillow today. I'm filling my creative time with small projects. Not ready to commit to Baltimore Album quilt yet. Frankly, I'm exhausted after SBS.
by the way, she was delivered to LA this morning....woop woop...

I was being sentimental when I made that mug rug... Lol...since then, I have put all the scraps away after I made the binding. I am leaving again for Idaho in a couple of weeks and will be gone for 2 weeks, likely. So, the LA will have my Sylvia for a month. The quilting will be a mix of both. We chose a cool design for "all over" quilting on the blocks. She is custom designing the mini border. Then, I will do FMQ on my domestic on the applique border. I've been playing with FMQ designs and I think I know what I'm going to do. We'll see.... Meanwhile, I'm thinking about another sampler....I know I know...I said I wouldn't do another one......lol... Still considering. I just want to use my polka dot stash, which is getting crazy...

Tell me, which sampler? Just curious. You know I love samplers But I do have enough projects as it is, I don't need another one hahahaha.
The hardest part of the quilting is chosing the right design. That's why I have tops waiting to be quilted. I have no idea how to quilt them! Sometimes I just pin them to a curtain and I know one day they will speak to me and tell me what is needed to finish them.

Donna Pea, more great blocks. You are moving right along!
Teen, what a fun tribute to your Sylvia adventure. I look forward to seeing what Sampler your considering also. I'm going to guess that it's either the Splendor or the Farm Girl I Sampler. As they both seem like they would be a fun use of your polka dot stash.
Anael, more great photos. Your country is beautiful! How are you coming on your PP project? *Houses*
