I know how you feel, I lived in NE Oregon, Ak. Maine and north Dakota, then moved south where I spent the coldest winter ever, huge old victorian house, when the ice storm hit, we had no power for over two weeks, all elec. house could not make a cup of coffee, and we had just moved there and did not know where to go to get a hot meal or coffee. I spent two weeks in bed under a bunch of quilts and both my cats were with me, only got up for pottie breaks. Nothing like that ever happened up north, and yes here we have a lot of fender benders when snow hits.

But on the really good side live close to Paducah and the quilt show , Handcocks of Paducah, and the Quilts museum. So looking forward to things back to where we can enjoy those lovely things in safety .

S**W is also a 4 letter word of distaste for me here in MI. There are s**w clouds out there right now, not sure it if will do that or rain. It is in the 40's and dropping right now.
The good thing is my real quilting season is on us! I have a whole list of quilts on my planning list right now. The first one is in the making right now. I hope to have the top just about done today.

I've lived in SoCal most of my life, but enjoyed going to the snow for cross country skiing. Then we moved to northern British Columbia for 4 years. I absolutely LOVED the snow. Of course I didn't have to clear it from a driveway to go to work every day, and except for caring for the horses there were few chores that needed to be done outside. DH cleared our 1/2 mile driveway with a 9 foot plow in front of the tractor (with a heated cab). And everyone in our part of BC knew how to drive in the snow, roads were plowed quickly, and it was just beautiful to look at. The only downside was early spring, when the snow melted before the ground thawed, and everything turned to mud. I would love to live where it snows again. Just another perspective...

We live in the heart of AR and love it here. We would go to a ski lodge or cabin for snow when the snow bug bit, which over the years has become less and less.

I live about 100 miles north of Phoenix. 3200 ft elevation and it snows rarely here. Igt was 40 degrees last night. This is just a early winter storm and it will be 80 degrees again by Sunday. I don't really like snow either. We do need some rain though.

I am a long-time New Mexican I who grew up in Illinois. Winter here, compared to the Midwest and Northeast, is comical. My line about snow here in the central area is that you get the best of both worlds— a beautiful drive to work in the morning with snow blanketing everything but by noon it is usually gone. By the end of the day, the roads are mostly dry. That is how most snow goes in my neck of the woods. The sun is out here again now, and my street has self-cleaned itself of snow.
Snow is almost always fleeting here. I love the climate in my home state.

Got close to 6" of snow today but now the sun is shining and the road is bare. Snow melting into the ground. I feel better now. Tomorrow have to make a quick run to the store. All is better in my world. Now to explain, I have lived in northern WI or the Twin Cities (MN) for 2/3 of my life. We moved to NM to get away from harsh winters and every year for the past 10 years winter has been getting colder and more snow. We moved here in Oct and I got a sunburn and now in Oct we had a blizzard. Time to check the map and look for new home.

I would much rather get snow than ice. Ice is impossible to drive on, with snow and 4 wheel drive you can get around.

This warmed my heart and made me laugh! We live in the Twin Cities, and my SIL is from Clovis. We've made the trip many times. Many years ago we were there when they had about two inches of snow. It was so funny seeing cars every which way, and people afraid to drive. We obviously had no problem and even gave them some driving tips!

I grew up in the snow belt- upstate NY. Tons and tons of snow for what seemed like most of the year! My brothers still live there and told me it's supposed to snow this weekend. Have fun, bros!
