Default Aleens Tacky Glue

I am in the throws of moving everything in my quilting room for a better work triangle.

As I was moving my ironing station I found a bottle of Aleens Tacky Glue, 5 oz, and the plastic bottle had split almost into 6 or 7 pieces. To be Honest, I don't remember when or where I bought it. So I thought I would try and save it..........LOL........it had an Awe-full chemical smell as the bottle broke into with the bottom 1/3 being quite yellowish. It came out like an extremely fat crayon in one piece.

I decided to trash it. I'm still washing my hands to get the smell off!

Just thought someone might learn from my experience.

I always felt as if the minute you opened Tacky glue it began to thicken. Yuck.

I also learned not to buy many roll on glue sticks just because they are on sale...'cause when you do need one , it has shrunken and dried out! Smarter to buy as needed! Lesson learned!

The same with rubber cement. When you finally go back to the bottle it is totally empty.

I have had similar issues with other chemical products that I have used over the years. You use a little bit of it and when you go back to it (in most cases years later), the product isn't the same or the bottle it came in is starting to disintegrate. Recently, I picked up a can of basting spray to use it for the first time and as I opened the plastic top, the whole cap exploded into a trillion little pieces. That was a big surprise and lucky that it didn't hit my eyes. I was dubious about the spray, seeing what happened to the cap, but it seemed okay. I had purchased this can probably about 8 years ago. A big lesson learned there...
