Bucket Lists
#31
I do want to see all 50 states, I have 9 more to go. For my 60th birthday I want to ride a ZipLine. I am the least adventure loving person in my family but that sounds fun. I hiked Mt Rainier on my 50th so I needed something to mark 60 as well. Of course I have a laundry list of quilts to make!

Many New Year's Resolution lists include "I want to do-----------" Do you see a difference in having something like that on a resolution list and having it on a bucket list? Are the items on a bucket list always of a larger or a grander scale? At least in so far as our own individual expectations go, that is. My husband expects to have about 6 months of health to accomplish his bucket list, except he never thought he would have to make up a bucket list. He wants to see Yellowstone Nat'l Park - it's one of two nat'l parks he hasn't seen. He wants to go back to the East coast to see relatives and go to his High School reunion and tell everyone goodbye. He wants to show our youngest son all the places of American history and pride in Washington DC. and He wants to go watch another son's HS band march at a football halftime show. Our son is the music director. Actually pretty simple things, but he traveled around the world several times when he was younger and now doesn't have the energy to go back to places he thought he would like to revisit some day. The other thing on his list is not to miss a day of Bible study - to understand the parts he glossed over before, to study in depth for the joy of knowing. NOT a cramming for the final test type of thing - just finally taking the time to study for the joy of the study.
I think bucket lists are somewhat different if the doctor has given you a time frame. We hope to have a lot of joy and happiness filling his list. I hope the rest of you have lots of joy also.

I have been very fortunate to travel extensively to Europe, Far East, all 50 states, and now that I'm retired I signed up to teach in Africa. My children both went to college in Europe and traveled to Turkey, Sri Lanka and everywhere in-between. even our 1 year old grandchild already has a passport. Only member who does not like to travel is my husband. He will go a few miles by train, to watch trains and ride on more trains! So I go with friends or alone. Volunteering with the Peace Corps, National Parks, Religious Groups is very good for us "mature types".
So as to my Bucket List - ski-diving. SOON Been told to do it before I get much older and have broken bones. I'll let you know how it turns out

In case you are not totally adventuresome....there is INDOOR sky diving which is a safer alternative.
My son teaches it in Las Vegas at the Vegas Indoor Sky Diving place. There are also different places throughout the US where you can go and enjoy also. I know that there is one in Gatlinburg....and one in Florida.
It is not cheap and you need to make an appointment,,,but he has never heard any complaints from those people flying.
Can't wait until we can get out there to try it..

I have been very fortunate too...I've been all over the US and Canada, and last year my DS and DDIL saw to it that I got to go to Italy with her and my DGD...my husband was in the Navy so we traveled more than I really wanted but we met lots of wonderful people along the way and got to do a lot of different things.
My only thing left on my bucket list is that I want to skydive this year...and i will! Oh, and finish all my quilts I want to make...

I have always wanted to do a trail ride. (Like they did in the old west). Want to see the grand canyon, alamo, colorado and revisit france. Also want to go to Italy, Spain and Hawaii. Take off on a month long journey on my motorcycle.

I've always wanted to take a trip and see the sights in Italy, I'd love to see my grandson graduate from hs and college (he's almost 3 now) and I would love to see a great -grandchild someday. I'll be happy just living a quiet life with my DH no matter what.
