it's possible you notice it more without glasses as your eyes have to work harder then. you might try Genteal eye drops. the gel type. it's very viscous and blurs sight at first but clears in a few minutes. effects will last longer than typical artificial tears, it's what i use as the liquid type just didn't have much of a lasting effect

I know what you mean. I now have to use a prescription eye
drop. Have had a tear in the retina and sooner or later I'll need
cateract surgery. Yes I think it is one of the things age does to
us. We live in NNY and heat with wood. I feel this is part of a
dry house. Especially winter.
Good luck and please go to a good eye surgeon. Use you eye
drops. My is Restasis. It works.

I have had severly dry eyes for years--finally found a specialist. He put in the tiny plugs (called Punctal plugs) and that helped a lot, and he recommended Bion Tears by Bousch and Lombe (sp?) and I am sooooo much better! Good luck!

Another cause is any change in hormones esp at menopause. The best non-RX I have used is Refresh Liquijel. It is a jel like liquid so it does not just run out as you put it in.

I have dry eye and use prescription eye drops and sometimes that doesn't even help there is a gel at WalMart called genteel, I use it in my eyes at bedtime along with the prescribed eye drops then several times a day use Refresh liquilgel, after a few days I can go back to just the prescribed drops. The pollen right now is bad so it is worse then

If your eyes also feel scratchy, or as if there is sand in them, have your thyroid checked. That's how mine were when I was diagnosed with thyrotoxicosis.

I have lived in Oregon and we had to live because my husband was so allergic to the molds. The molds that cause problems are not visible. Good luck.

I, too, have dry eyes. My eye dr. told me to use flax seed oil. I was also told to use fish oil. I still have trouble with the dry eyes but my triglycerides sure did go down, which was good.
