the night my mom died, I called immediately to cancel the visiting nurse due about 18 hours later. I left a very extensive message, per my mom's directions, thanking them. Repeating, no need to come, mom is dead. I get a call a few hours later. seems the woman didn't listen to the message. So I said, I called to leave a message before because my mother died in the night. Her question to me? do I want to reschedule the visit. I said, yeah, but when? she'll still be dead next week. Then the poor woman almost choked... LOLOL at not listening to what is being said. It was fun to stop her that way, though probably not nice

I had similar problems when my mother died. I finally would just write in red across the front of the bill or request for money "deceased". It took a few years, but they finally quit coming to my address, which she had NEVER lived. Dumb people abound....

I've had tussle with Bank of America. My Mom had to go into nursing home. Her bill was 1500, she was paying 60/mth. I got her to write a letter in her own handwriting stating she had no money, would not be received any, that she was going into home. Seems they never received it. They kept calling, I'd tell them & tell them & tell them. Finally after 6 mths or so, they quit.
As Dave Ramsey says, they are truly idiots....
