I drive an AWD Traverse and I love it. Last winter was my first winter driving it and I never had any problems. In the past I've always drive a four-wheel drive in the winter. One thing I like best is that I never need to decide if I should put it in 4WD or not. A few years ago I wrecked because I wasn't in 4WD because I didn't think it was bad but I hit some black ice.

I have AWD and love it in the winter, but wish the gas mileage was a little better.

4WD wouldn't have helped with black ice. In the 35 years I've had 4WD or AWD, I've decided they are worse on ice than FWD or RWD.
