Go to the coffee pot aisle and usually above the display pots are re-usable filter baskets ,I was always forgetting to buy the paper ones then we had to buy a new C/M and I spotted the baskets so now I always have a filter

My coffee machine has a reusable filter that you can purchase and use less coffee.
I used to have a reusable filter for my old coffee maker - now my new one uses a funnel type filter - haven't been able to find a reuseable one for it though.

Yeah, Same here. I just put them n the trash when I am finished with them. But sometimes I use them as stabilizer when I am embroidering on my machine.

I bought a "gold" filter. That is what some of them are called. About 10.00. I prefer it because the paper filters make the coffee cooler and I like it "hot"!

There is a type of mesh filter. My DIL has one. I would imagine they can be found in housewares at WM, etc. I have seen them in some of the off-breed catalogs such as "Harriet Carter" and "Caroll Wright".

We love our french press coffee maker ! We have had ours for over 10 years and its just right for hubby & I . I think the coffee tastes better in a french press for sure, more flavorful..

I don't care so much about coffee made with electric coffee makers. I want the aroma of real coffee to drift all over the house. I put my electric in the cabinet and use my good old Corning Ware one that is old but still working. Visitors coming into the house from the cold outdoors with the smell of fresh coffee greeting them is marvelous. And no, I don't use a filter. I'm sorry to say that I don't use my Grandma's way of tossing a bit of salt in it nor do I crack an egg in it and toss in the shell too. She would stir it and let it perk a couple of minutes more and then take it off the fire. The brew was dark and snarled as it gushed from the pot but with plenty of cream it was marvelous, even to younger teens. On camping trips I do and it is very welcome with a piece of heavy and moist Hunza Trail Bread.
