I have neither seen them, nor heard them, but I have felt and smelled them. I quite often feel a light touch on my hair, when I am sitting or lying in bed. And there are several areas in the house and yard where I get a particular smell (different one in each area). And things fall over a lot. And no, it is not an old house, but it is on a farm that has been settled for over 200 years.

I do believe in ghosts. I've not experienced any "human" ghosts, but we do have cat ghosts at our house of those that have left our family. I can feel them jump on my bed or lay against me at night and nothing will actually be there, or will feel them brush against me when I'm standing. I find it rather comforting.

Yes, my dear Grandma has saved me a couple of times by her voiced comments. She died in 1968, right after my last son was born.

On my DH's last day, in ER, he was in a coma and suddenly woke up and pointed to the side of the room. He counted, pointing, one, two, three, up to nine, then calmly told me that "They are all there waiting for me" then pointed to the right of the room and said that "The rest of them are over there", and then went out again. Nine added up to his parents and brothers who had gone before, and some of his most loved aunts.
When I told the ER nurse, he wasn't surprised.
I had worked with him before so he told me that he saw it often on the last day but no one wanted to hear it so he never said anything except when asked. He said for me to call in the family...he died later that evening.

A couple of days later I was sitting alone in the house and heard him tell me Goodbye, using my pet name only he called me.

I do, although I don't believe they're nearly as common as some others do. I'm very practical, and I will always look for a physical cause when things don't seem right. But there have been times I just couldn't come up with anything.

For example, one time I was standing alone in the back of the balcony of the theatre where I worked, waiting for the audience to clear out after a show. This was an older building that people claimed was badly haunted, but I wasn't sure I believed them. But that night, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up and not a second later I very distinctly heard a voice whisper in my right ear. I couldn't make out any words; it was just whispering. But it was really, really spooky and my skin crawled in waves from the top of my head downward. Never liked being in that balcony after that...

I have lots of second-hand stories, but that's the only thing that has happened to me.

ETA: I don't count visits from family members as ghosts. That's more of a spiritual connection to individuals than "haunting," and I fully believe they can pass back and forth from this world to the other. I think of ghosts as spirits that are stuck, the ones who give us the creeps and disrupt our lives.

Your response gave me goosebumps....not because of "spookiness" but because of how similar it is to my experience with my father's passing. I believe in spirits - they take care of us and help us through.....

Yes I do!! We have a male figure that walks around our apartment. He opens and closes doors and moves things but he leaves us alone. My kids call him George. I also saw a black cat walk up the hall way rubbing his body on the wall. It got to my room then turned around and disappeared. So yes I am a believer. I also believe in Angels, seen a few of them too.

Yes I do........i too feel my moms presence when I am sewing. She tried many times to get me to sew with her but I never took the time. Now that I have time, she's always around in spirit. Maybe it's why I enjoy it so much........it makes me feel closer to her.

My brother, whom was a night person passed in his house, to this day, the new owners swear to turning the lights off at bedtime, but about twice a month, they wake up to a light being on.........which they swear was not when they went to bed.

I believe in ghosts/spirits. I have a female entity who lives in my house. Once in a while I can sense her in the room and hear music being played (generally as I am in bed to go to sleep).

I've talked to my mother many times since her death in 1999. I've talked to my paternal grandfather.

I can do this because I believe that I can talk to my ancestors.
