Does your DH help you with your quilts?

I try to keep my DH away from anything that resembles a tool -- he tried to use the rotary cutter to cut some window film but it worked better if he helped steady the ruler and I cut. He is good about me shopping for fabric -- especially when we travel. He would clean and vaccuum my sewing room (if I let him), but the one time he did it it took a year to find everything (LOL).

My husband helps me out by not complaining when I buy material and quilting supplies or when I am in my sewing room a lot of the time. He seems to be proud of my accomplishments but doen't physically help out. He also does most of the cooking.

He helps me in selecting fabrics. I can always rely on him for ideas, suggestions, math and problem solving. He is my biggest fan!!! He even volunteers to do the dinner dishes to give me more time to quilt in the evenings!

He helps me with colors (even in the stores), he makes templates for me, he made me a barn quilt. He also takes me on fabric buying trips (which hopefully we are going next week).
He's a keeper (48 years)!!!

When my husband and I first started dating, he would pull out the pins and I even taught him how to press the fabric for me. Now I have to call him into the room to play show and tell, but he is always very appreciative of my work, and fusses at me when I'm critical of my work. I just finished my very first Mariner's Compass last night, and the points aren't perfect and I know they aren't perfect, but I'm nowhere near in the mood to fix anything so it looks how it looks, period. I'll cover up the center with a fleur de lis or something like that, but I'm DONE with paper piecing for the time being!
