Guilty on all counts. Two 1/2 years ago, I lost Luther ( dachsund) and Max ( ShiTzu) who were both 14, within 2 months of each other.
So, nearly two years ago, I got Toto (miniature Schnauzer), who was a rescue at 7 months old. He had been abandoned in a back yard, and was flea infested, covered in mats and burrs, and terrified.
One sad look at me, and he had me. He shares the house and the fun with two cats, Lulu and Libby. He sleeps where he wants to. Couches, in the bed, under the covers.... he knows which is his side of the bed, and he jumps up there and waits for me when he sees me turn down the bed.
He loves to go for rides, and to the doggie "spa".

They certainly are allot of fun and allot less trouble than kids in many ways (My youngest is 18...time for her to be more independant!)
While sewing, or playing my horn or whatever I'm doing, I always have my 4 shadows. All 4 sleep with us, the girl-Sydney on the floor, the other 3 nustled up with me. :-)
What a gorgeous little family you have!

I decided to have professional photos done of my dogs and I'm really glad I did. Jack was a rat terrier and really gave us a run for our money. He passed away 2 years ago and I still miss him. Floppy is a chilhuahua-cocker spaniel mix. She was alpha dog and Jack did everything he was told - a good man. She's 18 now but still perking along pretty well - when she's awake.

I have a Shitzu-Poodle mix that owns more than I DO. She has a pillowtop bed that sits on my sewing table because she likes to see us sewing instead of just seeing our legs from the floor. She sleeps under the covers with DH and I and has everyone she comes in contact with trained very well. We have decided that the reason she has to be on every part of my quilts is that I have touched every inch of them, and they must have my scent on them. They all have the "Chuey" touch as well, and I like it that way
