I met Fess Parker (Davey Crockett) when I went to summer band in San Angelo. I was just out of the 9th grade. Fess P. had come to visit my band director who was his band director when he was in school. He was really friendly and tall. I had his autograph for years and years and finally threw it away when cleaning.

Worked in a resturant in Las Crucus NM waiting tables and met Slim Pickins (stared in lots of westerns) and Arthur Honeycut (was in westerns also (was old even then)grouchy old coot. Did not like the way his oatmeal was cooked. At same time Robert Mitchem's son was there he had a short short roll in the movie In Harm's Way with John Wayne.

Had my picture taken with Bruce Campbell at his book signing in Oklahoma City. He's doing Burn Notice right now. I liked him till I found out he didn't like "fat" people. That explains why he was stiiing so 'far' away when the picture was taken. But..to look at him now, I guess what goes around comes around. LOL

When I was in college I worked at the university bookstore. There were people with contacts to get extra tickets to shows and I ended up with orchestra seats for Peter, Paul and Mary. You could actually make eye contact at that level. It was so much fun. I got to go backstage afterward and speak with each of them. Paul was always my favorite. Still have the program from that concert signed by all three.

Oh, Oh!! So love John Denver. I only got to see one of his shows in Oklahoma City before we lost him.

I met Bob Newhart on a flight, saw (and nearly fainted) Robert Redford when we lived in Colorado and grew up in Illinois near "Buffalo Bob Smith" from the old TV show Howdy Duty. Guess that really dates me! Also some oldies were Pearl Buck and Harry Morgan whom I met at college and Bill Clinton and Barack Obama while they were campaigning. An embarrassing moment came while I was interviewing a singer at college for our newspaper. I was so nervous I forgot my name! Luckily it was on my paper. Now, does anyone remember him - John Davidson from the 1960's?
